Ambition isn’t something leaders need to apologize for, and it shouldn’t require running ourselves into the ground to prove we have it.

During Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re thinking about what sustainable ambition requires from our workplaces, too. When growth depends on endless availability, unrealistic workloads, or treating rest as a lack of commitment, resilience alone isn’t the answer.

Leaders have an opportunity to create environments where individuals can grow, contribute, and pursue what’s next without sustaining the unsustainable.

As you think about your team, ask yourself: Does the way we work support ambition that can last?

Gloria Steinem offered a different way to think about passing the torch: keep yours, and use it to light others.

It’s a powerful model for leadership. We can keep growing while sharing what we know, making the introduction, putting another woman’s name forward, giving credit, and creating opportunities for others to step into their potential.

Leadership isn’t only about how far we go. It’s also about who has more opportunity because we led.

Think of a woman whose potential you see. What door could you help open for her?

Last week, Inforum's ManufacturingNEXT affinity group went behind the scenes at the Amway XS Beverage Plant in Ada. Our members got a close look at an active manufacturing floor during a guided tour.

After the tour, we stayed to network and build connections. Some attendees work in manufacturing, some support the industry, and some were simply curious to learn more. That mix is exactly what ManufacturingNEXT is all about!

A big thank you to the Amway team for opening your doors and sharing your work with us, and to everyone who joined. We can't wait to see you at the next ManufacturingNEXT event!

September took us across Michigan, and there was a lot worth looking back on.

From industry conversations and professional development to affinity group gatherings, site visits, and plenty of moments spent getting to know the women beside us, this month was a reminder of how many ways there are to grow with Inforum.

Thank you to every member, volunteer, partner, and guest who showed up, shared what you know, asked thoughtful questions, and made room for someone new. We’re proud of what this community continues to build together, and we’re looking forward to where October takes us next.

Members of Inforum’s West Michigan AEC Affinity Group recently had the opportunity to step inside Amway Stadium for a behind-the-scenes look at the project while it’s still under construction.

From learning more about the design and construction process to seeing the details take shape firsthand, the tour gave members a unique look at the collaboration and expertise behind a project of this scale.

Thank you to Rockford, AECOM Hunt, Progressive Companies, and Grand Action 2.0 for welcoming the group, sharing your expertise, and making this experience possible.

We’re grateful for opportunities like these that bring Inforum members together to connect, learn, and experience the work shaping our communities. We can’t wait to see Amway Stadium come to life when it opens in spring 2027!

AI is changing what teams can do. It’s also changing what teams need from their leaders.

The opportunity goes beyond adopting new technology or working more efficiently. Leaders can create cultures where people feel equipped to learn, experiment, ask questions, think critically, and grow alongside the tools they use.

That means thinking beyond efficiency to opportunity. Beyond adoption to inclusion. Beyond getting an answer to knowing how to evaluate it.

AI can expand what a team is capable of. Strong leadership helps the people on that team expand with it.
