Join Me in Empowering Youth: A Personal Message from the Founder
Dear Friends/Peers,
As someone who has witnessed my unwavering dedication to advocating for our youth, I'm reaching out to share a project that holds immense personal significance to me.
For many years, I've dedicated myself tirelessly to nurturing, teaching, and protecting the children in my family and community. It's a call I am blessed to answer, and it has led me to a new venture that I am overjoyed to share with you.
I am launching YEMAYA House Organization, an initiative rooted in the acronym YEMAYA - Youth Empowerment through Mentorship and Advocacy to Yield Adversities. Our mission is to create a supportive community that empowers at-risk youth to overcome challenges and thrive.
Why Your Support Matters:
Without proper guidance, navigating pregnancy and motherhood is oftentimes a sad and lonely experience for many new moms leading to an unwanted or frightening, ill prepared for pregnancy and child birthing experience. Many opt for termination and abandonment of the child for fear of not being able to provide food, shelter, and safety. It's heartbreaking, and I believe we can make a difference. I am particularly passionate about our Nurture Link program, a holistic approach to parental support.
Nurture Link: A Personal Journey:
As a teen mother myself, I understand the unique struggles and joys of parenthood. That's why Nurture Link is so close to my heart. It's more than a program; it's a community of "aunties" – mentors offering companionship, childcare, wellness visits, and invaluable guidance on parenting skills. These mentors include healthcare professionals, retired moms, and nurturing souls dedicated to creating a village of support.
How You Can Help:
I am reaching out to you for support in making this project a success. Your contribution will directly impact the lives of these at-risk youth faced with parenthood, offering them a chance to overcome adversities. Consider joining me in sharing our fundraiser with your network. Together, we can be the village these young individuals need.
It Takes a Village:
In the spirit of "It takes a village," our Nurture Link program is a real-life, holistic approach to parental support. We have a network of "aunties" (our volunteers and mentors) – nurses, healthcare professionals, retirees, and foster and adoptive moms – volunteering their time and experience to support high-risk moms, those battling postpartum depression, and those in need of basic domestic and child rearing assistance.
Your support is not just a donation; it's an investment in building stronger, more resilient young families. Join me in supporting young mothers.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.
