Christine Lawson is a beloved volunteer and peer mentor with Remembering Cherubs. She uses every opportunity to share with others how she was lying in bed one morning watching tv and saw a news report about a Remembering Cherubs event happening later that day. She attended the event and that decision changed the trajectory of her life. After carrying 62 years of pain from the loss of her sweet baby, she was able to find healing through our organization. We love Christine and appreciate her for being the best advocate and community auntie every grieving parent deserves to have in their corner. 💟

Calling all helpers. Remembering Cherubs is gearing up to kick off Black Women’s Health Month in Detroit and we’re looking to connect with community leaders to serve as official ambassadors and help amplify the mission.

We’re hosting a brief online information session on Wednesday, May 20th at 6:30 pm to share more details about how to get involved.

We’d love to lock arms with anyone passionate about uplifting Black women in our community and supporting their overall well-being. Please join us on the call. And share this with the other helpers in your life who are always down to make a difference.

We could all use a vacation. We may not be able to fly you to the beach, but we can bring the beach vibes to you. Join Remembering Cherubs on Saturday, June 6th at 11 a.m. at Avalon Healing Center for our Vacation Vibes support group meeting.

It’s the mid-year refresh we all need. We’ll share our current struggles and triumphs, reflect on what we want to carry into the second half of the year, and create a special keepsake to take home. You’re welcome to bring a picnic-style dish or snack to share, but bringing food is not required.

Saturday’s pregnancy and infant loss support group meeting was in recognition of Bereaved Mother’s Day. We wanted to uplift our moms and acknowledge that they deserve to be celebrated as a mother to the babies that are gone way too soon. We got to see the happiness on their faces from being showered with gifts. Then it felt like one big family with us all loading into a sprinter van and heading to the river for a water ritual that symbolized the eternal flow of love and connection to our sweet babies.

Our hope is that each person felt seen, supported, and surrounded by a community that understands this kind of love and loss. If you know someone who could use Remembering Cherubs’ support, let them know there’s a whole community here for them. 💟

Talk It Out, Walk It Out is back! Join Remembering Cherubs on Saturday, August 1st at the Charles H. Wright Museum to kick off Black Women’s Health Month in Detroit.
