In a new Detroit News opinion column, Hannan Center President & CEO Vincent Tilford explains why age alone is not an accurate measure of driving ability, and how broad, age-based policies risk isolating older adults who rely on driving to stay connected to their communities.

As Michigan lawmakers consider new driving rules that could place stricter, age-based testing requirements on older adults, this issue raises important questions about fairness, independence, and mobility.

Tomorrow! ✨ A moving film, a special Q&A, and an opportunity for support.

BORDERLAND: THE LINE WITHIN is a moving documentary that exposes the profitable business of immigration enforcement by telling the stories of individual immigrants as they come together, despite threats of violence, detention and deportation, to build a social movement for human rights.

🎤 Following the movie, there will be a Q&A with director Pamela Yates and producer Paco de Onis.

Temple Beth Emeth, in collaboration with an interfaith network of congregations in Washtenaw County, is sponsoring the film, BORDERLAND: THE LINE WITHIN to fund legal services for Michigan immigrants whose rights are being violated and who are without representation.

💸 Proceeds from the ticket sales, along with all additional donations, will go to the Interfaith Fund for Immigrant Justice (IFIJ) to support the non-profit Michigan Immigrant Rights Center (MIRC).
