LEADERSHIP WITH FORESIGHT: BUILDING THE FUTURE OF BLACK ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT! 🚀

Leadership is about more than identifying today's challenges. It's about anticipating tomorrow's opportunities and mobilizing the people, partnerships, and resources needed to create lasting change.

Thank you to Frank Woods for sharing his leadership and insights on contracting, community mobilization, and political mentorship as pathways to strengthening Black economic empowerment.

At Strategic Alliance Community Development Corporation (SACDC), we recognize that economic mobility requires access to education, infrastructure, business opportunities, and leadership development.

Through our work with university partners, the University of Michigan (U-M) and the University of Detroit Mercy (UDM), we are advancing conversations and educational opportunities around broadband, digital infrastructure, and the technologies shaping our future.

Our mission is to prepare our communities not only to understand emerging technologies but also to develop the skills, partnerships, and businesses needed to participate in their implementation.

The future of Black economics must include ownership, education, contracting opportunities, and the development of our next generation of leaders.

We are building the partnerships today that will help create economic opportunities for generations to come.

STRATEGIC ALLIANCE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS. CREATING OPPORTUNITIES. TRANSFORMING COMMUNITIES.

Economic development is not just about what we build. It is about who benefits, who participates, and what opportunities we create for the next generation.

At Strategic Alliance Community Development (SACDC), we are bringing leadership, industry partners, and community stakeholders to the table to turn conversations into measurable action.

Our mission remains clear: expand access to workforce training, broadband infrastructure, renewable energy, and community-owned economic opportunities.

We are not simply preparing people for the jobs of tomorrow. We are working to build the infrastructure, partnerships, and economic pathways that will create those jobs.

The future of our communities will not build itself. We must build it together.

DAY 2 | LEADERSHIP + SOCIAL ECONOMICS

Leadership and social economics go hand in hand.

Upward mobility is not created by one program or one industry. It happens when we connect the systems that shape opportunity:

Healthcare. Manufacturing. Infrastructure. Education. Technology. Workforce Development. Housing. Financial Literacy.

Strong communities are built when people have access to the skills, resources, infrastructure, and relationships necessary to move from simply surviving to earning, owning, building, and leading.

That is the conversation we have to keep pushing: not just economic development, but economic mobility.

Leadership means bringing people together, connecting the systems, and turning those connections into measurable opportunities for families and communities.

Day 2. The work continues.

Leadership Is More Than a Title—It's Showing Up
We were honored to welcome former NBA All-Star Dale Davis, whose distinguished career included many seasons with the Indiana Pacers and later the Detroit Pistons, to our Technology & Workforce Development Hub in Inkster.

Dale didn't come to talk basketball. He came to see a vision.

He toured our facility, learned about our plans to create opportunities through workforce development, technology, skilled trades, and entrepreneurship, and took the time to encourage us over dinner. Our conversation centered on leadership, legacy, and what it takes to help the next generation succeed.

That kind of leadership matters.
Real change happens when accomplished leaders invest their time, experience, and influence into communities that are building a better future. It happens when Black men intentionally mentor, collaborate, and create opportunities that extend beyond themselves.

What we're building in Inkster is bigger than a building. It's about creating pathways to careers, economic mobility, and generational impact. Seeing leaders like Dale Davis recognize that vision reminds us that we're on the right path.

Thank you, Dale, for taking the time to visit, encourage, and stand with us. We appreciate your leadership and your belief in what's possible.
The work continues.

Today was another reminder that transformational work gets noticed.

Following the recent National Planning Conference (NPC26) in Detroit, where more than 4,000 urban planners, community development professionals, and public policy leaders gathered to discuss the future of housing, climate resilience, infrastructure, and equitable development, we were honored to welcome planning professionals to 2121 Inkster Road for a site visit.

What they saw was more than a building—they saw a vision.

Strategic Alliance CDC is transforming this former public facility into a next-generation Smart City and Workforce Development Center that will prepare residents for careers in broadband, cybersecurity, AI, clean energy, advanced manufacturing, gaming, and emerging technologies.

This project demonstrates what is possible when community-driven redevelopment is paired with innovation, workforce investment, and long-term economic opportunity.

Inkster has the opportunity to become a model for how communities can reclaim underutilized assets and create pathways to prosperity for future generations.

The future isn't something we wait for. It's something we build—together.

🚧 BETTER DETROIT YOUTH MOVEMENT 🚧
Strategic Alliance Community Development Corporation, alongside the Wayne County Black Caucus, is continuing the work of building stronger communities through communication, leadership, skilled trades awareness, and economic development conversations across Detroit and surrounding areas.
Join us for an evening focused on: 🔹 Healthy working relationships
🔹 Communication skills
🔹 Financial literacy
🔹 Entrepreneurship
🔹 Technology and skilled trades exposure
🔹 Community leadership and development
This is more than a meeting.
It is about creating real relationships between community, industry, workforce partners, financial institutions, and residents who want to help build opportunity in Black and Brown communities.
We are bringing the conversations directly into the neighborhoods — creating space for young people, trades professionals, mentors, and community leaders to connect, learn, and grow together.

Bringing people together to move Inkster forward.
From labor leaders and retirees, to students from Eastern Michigan University and the University of Michigan, to educators, trainers, and local residents—this is what community-driven progress looks like.
These moments reflect our ongoing work to strengthen Inkster through smart city infrastructure, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and technology-focused workforce development. Every conversation, every training, and every partnership is about creating real jobs and real opportunity for Inkster residents—by Inkster, for Inkster.

"Inkster, Strategic Alliance Community Development we’re rolling up our sleeves to bring you top-notch electrical and solar training—just like we’ve started in Detroit. But we need a little spark of support from our local leaders to make it a reality. With the community behind us and a nod from the folks in office, we can light the way to a brighter future together."
