DL Red comes home with 3rd place in Perham tournament.

DL 14U Red defeated DGF Babe Ruth SILVER 14U 11-0 on Sunday at TBD thanks in part to six runs in the fifth inning. Kellen Tappe doubled, scoring one run, Rylee Engebretson laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run, Cael McDonald singled, scoring one run, and Wyatt Hunter singled, scoring one run.

DL 14U Red got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Tappe singled to the left side of the infield, Engebretson grounded out, and DL 14U Red scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run.

DL 14U Red added two runs in the second. Jaxson Martinez singled to center field, making the score 5-0.

Colton Heden earned the win for DL 14U Red. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out six and walking two. Kolten Leichtenberg started on the mound for DGF Babe Ruth SILVER 14U. The pitcher surrendered five hits and eight runs (seven earned) over four innings, striking out one and walking seven.

Martinez and Tappe were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for DL 14U Red while hitting back-to-back. Martinez, Engebretson, and Tappe each drove in two runs for DL 14U Red. DL 14U Red had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Heden and Kael Schmitz led the team with two walks each. Heden and Tappe each stole multiple bases for DL 14U Red. DL 14U Red stole nine bases in the game. DL 14U Red turned one double play in the game. DL 14U Red didn't commit a single error in the field. Tappe had the most chances in the field with six.

Detroit Lakes Post 15 got a pitching gem from Emmett Hudson, but lost 1-0 to Lidgerwood Legion today in Wahpeton. Hudson pitched a complete game, striking out 7 batters and scattering 5 hits. The junior to be, surrendered a run in the bottom of the 7th to take the hard luck loss. Noah Germain, Landon Germain, Eli Hatch, and Weston White all collected hits for Post 15. DL falls to 2-3 on the season and opens up District play this Tuesday as they host Alexandria for a 4pm double header at the High School field.

Kellen Tappe Puts On Strong Contact Performance As DL 14U Red Take The Win Over Fergus Falls 14U

Kellen Tappe collected three hits in four at bats, as DL 14U Red defeated Fergus Falls 14U 13-3 on Saturday at TBD. Tappe tripled in the first inning, singled in the fifth inning, and doubled in the sixth inning.

DL 14U Red got on the board in the top of the first inning after Tappe tripled, and Colton Heden hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

DL 14U Red added two runs in the third. Heden singled down the left field line, making the score 4-0.

DL 14U Red scored five runs on three hits in the top of the sixth inning. Caleb Schute scored after tagging up, Tappe doubled, scoring one run, Rylee Engebretson drew a walk, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs.

Cael McDonald earned the win for DL 14U Red. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and one run over three and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. Tappe collected the save. Jaxson Martinez appeared in relief for DL 14U Red.

Creighton Hochgraber collected two hits for DL 14U Red in four at bats. DL 14U Red had a strong eye at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game. McDonald, Heden, Martinez, and Engebretson led the team with two free passes each. Hochgraber stole two bases. DL 14U Red ran wild on the base paths, piling up nine stolen bases for the game.

Detroit Lakes loses 8-5 in the first game of the Wahpeton tournament vs Lamoure, ND.
Dillon Barker went 1-3 with a triple and a RBI.

Hatch, Dillon Barker, Noah Germain, Max Ducharme, and Holden Ryding each collected one his for Post 15.

In the second game of the tournament, Detroit Lakes was in a close one with a 2-2 tie with host Wahpeton when things fell apart. Detroit Lakes eventually loses 12- 2 in 6th inning. Eli Hatch continued to swing a hot bat with two hits and a double. Wesley Berg pitches three innings striking out 5 batters.

Up Next for post 15 will be tomorrow vs Lidgerwood, North Dakota at 12:30 PM in Wahpeton.

Strong Hitting Not Enough As DL 14U Red Falls To Fergus Falls 14U

DL 14U Red fell 5-4 to Fergus Falls 14U on Thursday despite out-hitting them 10 to six. Cael McDonald, Creighton Hochgraber, Kael Schmitz, and Kellen Tappe each collected two hits for DL 14U Red.

Fergus Falls 14U got on the board in the top of the first inning after Asher Hendricks singled to center field, Landon Thunselle singled to the left side of the infield, and Thunselle stole home, each scoring one run.

Tappe pitched three innings in relief for DL 14U Red. The hurler gave up zero hits and one run (zero earned) while, striking out two and walking two. Colton Heden began the game for DL 14U Red. The right-handed pitcher allowed three hits and three runs (two earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking two. Lynkin Haas started the game for Fergus Falls 14U. The righty allowed 10 hits and four runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking two.

DL 14U Red accumulated 10 hits in the game. Heden, Hochgraber, and Jaxson Martinez each drove in one run for DL. DL turned one double play in the game.

DLYBA White 14U and DGF Babe Ruth SILVER 14U ended in a tie, 18-18 on Thursday.

DGF Babe Ruth SILVER 14U were the first to get on the board in the first when Jett Magnuson grounded out, scoring one run.

DLYBA White 14U flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on five hits to take the lead, 3-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Bloom Jordan that drove in two.

DGF Babe Ruth SILVER 14U flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring six runs on two hits to take the lead, 7-5. The biggest blow in the inning was an error that drove in two.

DLYBA White 14U jumped into the lead in the bottom of the second when Jordan drew a walk, scoring one run, Grayson Seuntjens singled, scoring two runs, and Ethan Baden singled, scoring one run.

DLYBA White 14U added one run in the third after Brady Larson walked.

DGF Babe Ruth SILVER 14U flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring 11 runs on five hits to take the lead, 18-10. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Griffin Engstrom that drove in two.

Casen Pender stepped on the bump first for DGF Babe Ruth SILVER 14U. The starter allowed nine hits and seven runs over two innings, striking out three and walking three.

DLYBA White 14U collected 12 hits in the game. Bennett Hudson, Seuntjens, Baden, and Joey Voigt each collected two hits for DLYBA White 14U. Jordan and Seuntjens were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for DLYBA White 14U. Jordan paced DLYBA White 14U with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game.

DL 11U were triumphant over DGF 11-6 on Monday at Felton.

DLYBA 11U got on the board in the top of the first inning after Garrett M drew a walk, scoring one run, Wesley B singled, scoring one run, Decker W singled, scoring two runs, and Jasen A singled, scoring one run.

DL 11U scored six runs on four hits in the top of the fifth inning. Olin L grounded out, scoring one run, Hoyce P doubled, scoring one run, Garrett singled, scoring one run, Decker singled, scoring one run, a steal of home scored one run, and a steal of home scored one run.

Jasen started the game for DL 11U. The hurler surrendered two hits and one run over three innings, striking out five and walking two. Landon K started on the bump for DGF. The hurler gave up three hits and five runs over two innings, striking out four and walking four. Wesley appeared in relief for DL.

Decker led DL with two hits in three at bats. DL had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Grant W and Garrett led the team with two walks each. Grant, Hoyce, Decker, Wesley, Garrett, Olin, and Max N each stole multiple bases for DL.
