We’ve been a little quiet lately, but don’t mistake our silence for inactivity. Emerald Coast United is always on standby, ready to serve our community. As a local nonprofit disaster relief organization proudly affiliated with the United Cajun Navy, we’re prepared to answer the call whenever our neighbors need us.

As we continue through hurricane season, now is the time to prepare:
🌀 Know your hurricane evacuation zone and have a family emergency plan.
🏠 Test your smoke detectors and replace batteries if needed. If your home has gas appliances, make sure you also have a working carbon monoxide detector.
🌊 Spending time on the water? Make sure children are wearing properly fitted life jackets.
🏖️ Heading to the beach? Pay attention to the beach safety flags and understand the dangers of rip currents.
🚗 Buckle up every trip—seat belts save lives.

Being prepared isn’t about expecting the worst—it’s about protecting the people you love.

If you or someone you know needs assistance during a disaster or emergency, don’t hesitate to reach out. Emerald Coast United is always monitoring the situation and standing ready to help our community however we can.

From our entire crew, we hope everyone is having an amazing, safe summer. Look out for one another, stay prepared, and remember—we’re always on standby and ready to answer the call.

🌪️ HURRICANE MELISSA RELIEF DRIVE 🌪️

Hurricane Melissa has devastated parts of Jamaica — impacting families connected to our own community. 💔

We’re teaming up with Emerald Coast United, the United Cajun Navy, and SCDC to collect urgently needed supplies for those affected.

📍 Drop-off Location: Great Southern Cafe
83 Central Square, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459
🕙 10 AM – 5 PM daily
📅 Final Donation Day: Tuesday, November 18, 2025

Diapers & wipes | Baby formula | Clothing (new/gently used) | Bedding | Air mattresses | Tarps | Batteries | Water filters | MREs & nonperishables | Solar chargers | First aid | Hygiene items | Feminine products | Hot/cold storage bags

Today, we remember.
On September 11, 2001, our nation endured an unthinkable tragedy. We honor the lives lost that day, the heroes who ran toward danger, and all who have since stepped up to serve and protect our country.

At Emerald Coast United, we stand in solemn remembrance and deep gratitude for the courage, sacrifice, and unity shown in the face of darkness. May we never forget the cost of freedom and the strength of the American spirit.

LATEST UPDATE: Bridge traffic is back open, traffic is flowing, and the boat has been moved. Thanks to all agencies who assisted!

UPDATE: The bridge is being shut down to vehicle traffic NOW (10:40 a.m.) for approximately 15-20 minutes while the boat is moved.

Tough Friday. Luckily nobody was injured, but Marler Bridge will be shut down for approximately 15-20 minutes mid-day (8/15/25) while this stuck boat is moved.

Update on the Dog Project:
Emerald Coast Pet Rescue

If you missed it, we started helping a home that got overwhelmed quickly with dogs and could not afford to spay and neuter everyone that had landed there.

‼️25 puppies + 10 adult dogs, to be exact. ‼️

- All 10 adults have or will be altered.
- 4 puppies have been adopted or Foster to Adopt
- We have fully vetted 9 of the puppies, so far.
- We have 10 upcoming scheduled S/N appts.

We have worked really hard on this; taking food out and vetting them until we could pull each puppy.

We don’t have the foster-base (yet!), but we are making headway and are entirely committed to getting this home under control for the sake of the owner and our community.

‼️If you can’t foster, could you help us out? ‼️
This project has set us back and eaten away at our funds significantly.
Our Dog Project adoption fees are lower so we can get these babies into HOMES and pull the remaining pups as quickly as we can!
