Our advice for Election Day is to always look into the background of who you're voting for and the fine print of what you're voting for. So much is revealed, just by checking who's associated with what, what's their voting record and where the money's coming from.

While we will be voting on federal and state representation, Desert Hot Springs isn't running citywide candidates until next year.

We hope that Russell Betts and Joe McKee are reelected but, this year, the closest thing to a city office that's up for grabs is our district's representative to College of the Desert's Board of Trustees.

We don't like the record of Adam Sanchez, compared to Mary Jane Sanchez but, we'd like to see what Mary Jane would do in higher elected offices. So, we endorse Breanna SEWELLforCOD.com because of her cutting-edge views on education, entrepreneurship and community involvement.

November's ballot will offer propositions on the death penalty, money in politics and maybe even breaking the state into a few smaller state-wide governments with their own independent federal representation - two U.S. Senators each, etc.
