We don’t really believe in the whole “new year, new me” thing… 👀 Most people don’t need to become someone else in January. They just need a reason to get moving, a date to circle on the calendar and a few people to do it with.

Each year, the EMC DAM to DSM teams up with the Army Corps of Engineers to support projects that exchange access to the outdoors and recreation at the Saylorville Dam. This year, thanks to our "Give A Dam" program and the support of our athletes, we're proud to donate outdoor movie equipment to help start "Movies in the Park" and fresh volleyball gear to revitalize some of the campground courts.

The biggest thank you to all who help us execute this Des Moines running tradition from Saylorville Dam to downtown Des Moines.

13.1 miles of motivated athletes, volunteers, city officials, medical teams, sponsors, partners and spectators. This year was an amazing turn out and so fulfilling to witness.

The motivational messages of LETS DO THIS and YOU GOT THIS are not only for the athletes. It takes a community to put this event on and we couldn’t be more proud and thankful that our community and home is Des Moines and surrounding areas.

Next year's race will be May 30th, 2026.

Grab a free foam hand and enjoy the rowdiest corner of the race! will be there for the race morning caffeine boost ⚡

RIVERVIEW PARK : 710 CORNING AVE, DES MOINES (Mile 8.5)
With the Des Moines River as the race scenery backdrop, the park has easy in-and-out access for parking thanks to small changes in this year's race course. Please do not cross the park bridge after 7:15am as this becomes part of the race course. Added entertainment : the Isiserettes Drill + Drum Corps 🥁

FINISH LINE ON LOCUST STREET BRIDGE : 100 LOCUST STREET, DES MOINES
Next to the World Food Prize Building, the finish line provides all the energy you need. Watch your athlete achieve the final few steps of their goal to finish their 13.1 mile journey from the Saylorville Dam 🥇
