Professional Presenters now meets twice monthly, which has expanded the opportunity for our members and our guests. This club was created to fill a void for members in District 26 who wanted a place to stretch their speaking times, them to bring their messages to the marketplace. We offer a diverse membership ranging from District leaders, to a two-time World Championship Finalist, to new Toastmas

ters looking to step up as a paid speaker. We also feature guest speakers, who have included Joe Sabah, Ed Tate, and Rebecca Barth. There are many advanced clubs going above and beyond in improving speaking and evaluation skills. But our club focuses on taking you from free to fee, offering programs on all facets of professional speaking, including marketing, technology, even obtaining and negotiating with clients. Speaking slots range from 20-45 minutes, where members deliver talks as they would in the 'real world'. We receive critical round-robin feedback from both fellow members and aspiring professionals pulling no punches in helping us hone the message to its most profitable potential.

Professional Presentation Skill #25 of 100 you could be practicing at Professional Presenters Toastmasters club in Denver, Colorado: "Continuously practicing stories and developing new narratives."

Why is it important? Mastering your storytelling through continuous ongoing practice is vital for professional speakers because well-crafted stories connect audiences on a deeper level, transform presentations into memorable experiences, and help messages stick long after the speech is over.

Practiced storytelling boosts engagement and retention, allowing speakers to build trust and inspire audiences by sharing emotions, personal lessons, and relatable challenges.

Regular story practice ensures that speakers' material remains authentic, relevant, and adaptable for different groups or goals, helping speakers refine delivery, structure, and emotional impact.

Benefits of Ongoing Story Practice:

* Increases emotional connection and audience engagement

* Makes complex concepts more relatable and memorable

* Helps speakers stand out and leave a lasting impression

* Fosters authenticity and trust through shared experience

Refining storytelling is a lifelong pursuit for speakers who want their influence to grow and their presentations to resonate with audiences at every event.

How to Practice Your Storytelling:

A valuable way to practice storytelling at a professional speaker level is to choose a story with a clear message, rehearse it out loud, and actively seek feedback on your narrative structure, emotional delivery, and audience engagement. Focus on refining your story’s opening, pacing the unfolding events, and emphasizing a strong ending that links back to your central theme. Record yourself and review your performance to identify areas for improvement, or share your story with a small group for live critique.

The Stories We Tell (And the Connections They Create): A story-communication experience for Leaders...

The stories we tell shape how others see us—and how deeply they trust us. In leadership, storytelling isn’t just a soft skill; it’s a trust-building superpower. Whether you’re leading teams, designing a conference, or planning a high-stakes event, your ability to tell intentional, authentic stories directly impacts how people connect, follow, and engage.

This session is both introduction to and an immersion in the With 1 Word® storytelling method—an actionable framework to uncover, shape, and share stories that build affective trust: the kind of trust people feel emotionally before any results are seen.

You’ll experience how intentional storytelling creates deeper team cohesion, stronger conference experiences, and more relatable affective leadership.

Because how a story sounds in your head is never how it lands in the room—you’ll practice out loud. This isn’t just theory. It’s a training ground for influence.

This session isn’t just for you. It’s for the people who count on you to help them create connections.

Learning Outcomes / Session Goals:

**Leave with story frameworks that enhance team communication, elevate the impact of events, and strengthen your leadership voice

**Gain a repeatable process for discovering the right story for any audience or situation

**Learn the SARM formula for crafting stories that are Specific, Authentic, Relatable, and Memorable

**Practice telling stories out loud to develop your delivery and presence in real-time

**Understand how affective trust is built through storytelling

You are welcome and strongly encouraged to join us. Do not miss this special event!

You do not need to be a member of Toastmasters to attend and participate. Come one, come all, and mix and mingle with other professional speakers from our Professional Presenters Toastmasters club and professional speaker members of the Colorado chapter of National Speakers Association that are coming to learn from Keith!

Professional Presentation Skill #11 of 100 you could be practicing at Professional Presenters Toastmasters club in Denver, Colorado: “Moving with intent on stage."

How to recognize you need to develop this skill: Crossing over (like an ice skating racer crosses over their feet in turns) your feet when you step to the side, not moving at all when the speech makes sense that you should, choosing the wrong times in the speech to move.

Why it's important: Moving with intent on stage is important because purposeful movement, when aligned with your message, can heighten your impact, make your content more memorable, and help you command the room. Purposeful stage movement draws the audience’s attention, underscores your points, and prevents nervous or distracting habits from undermining your credibility.

Suggestion for practicing it: Choose one main idea or message in your speech that would benefit from a key movement or position on stage. For example, start at one side to describe “the past,” and move to the center for “the present,” then to the opposite side for “the future.” Practice your speech at club meetings, intentionally walking to these spots at the right moments in your script. Ask for feedback from club members on whether your movement felt natural and if it helped emphasize your message. Gradually add purposeful gestures and experiment with stillness to reinforce your message, making each movement deliberate and aligned with what you are saying.
