Go to www.indiatransformed.org for details In 1988, India Transformed started putting programs together to serve street children and destitute women…and started planting churches. In 24 years India Transformed has 13 children's homes and community-based childcare centers that serve nearly 1000 children, have 883 women that have graduated from the "Talitha Cumi" women's empowerment program, has re

ached 5.56 million people with the Gospel through a Community Transformation Center model. 1176 church planters have established 909 churches in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Indonesia …and significant growth is projected. New Life for Children:
Sponsoring a child through India Transformed provides food, a literal home in the case of our residential facilities, transportation to school, supplemental English instruction (so he/she can compete in India"s economic future), school uniforms, Christian instruction, and nurture for children across India, many of whom recently lived on the streets. United International School:
Students from all economic, caste, and religious backgrounds are enrolled in the school, including the children in our New Life Children’s Home. The vision is to equip the students academically and spiritually to be leaders in India's future. New Hope for Women:
Attending a Talitha Cumi training provides skills and confidence to get a job in a garment factory, making 5000 Rupees a month. This is 3-4 times what women would have been able to scrape together without it! Community Transformation Centers:
Sponsoring a church planter through India Transformed Community Transformation Centers (CTCs) provides support for the church planter and his/her family. Sponsorship covers two years of teaching/training/curriculum in a structured, rigorous, academic Bible course, outreach materials, and a bicycle for visiting area villages. Built into the second year is vocational and literacy training for villagers.

General information

One-sixth of the world lives in India. Over the last six decades, India has made enormous progress in industrial growth, economic development, science and technology. It is poised to be a superpower in the 21st century…yet India is falling behind in the human development index. The education scenario is alarmingly dismal at the grassroots level with only 30% able to read and write. 11 million street children scavenge for food in the garbage. Many do not go home in the evenings, either from fear of alcoholic fathers or because they have no homes to go to. They survive by petty thievery or get pulled into drug cartels. Countless women are abandoned by their husbands and must turn to begging. Millions of lives are spent fighting to survive.
