CONGRATULATIONS!!! to the following CHS Band members for their excellent performances yesterday at the UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest in College Station:

Maddie Franklin - 2nd Division rating on her Class 2 Flute Solo.

Samantha Bueno - 2nd Division rating on her Class 3 Flute Solo.

Opal Keeling - 2nd Division rating on her Class 3 Tenor Sax Solo.

Bailey Kuder - 2nd Division rating on her Class 2 Trumpet Solo.

Daniel Martinez - 2nd Division rating on his Class 1 Euphonium Solo.

Mason Downie - 2nd Division rating on her Class 2 Snare Drum Solo

Maddie, Kenzi & Karla - 2nd Division rating on their Class 2 Woodwind Trio.

Kenzi Walker - 1st Division rating on her Class 2 Clarinet Solo.

Isaac Mitchell - 1st Division rating on his Class 2 Snare Drum Solo.

Cameron Braegger - 1st Division rating on his Class 1 French Horn Solo.

Ender Webb - 1st Division rating on her Class 1 Marimba Solo.

With receiving a First Division ratings on the Class 1 French Horn Solo and the Class 1 Marimba Solo, and by performing it from Memory, both Cameron and Ender will move on to the perform their solos at the UIL Texas State Solo/Ensemble contest at the end of May.

What a fantastic trip the CHS band had! During the trip, outside the hours of practice for the performance, we:
- visited the museum just outside Cape Canaveral,
- went to Cocoa Beach where we shopped at Ron Jon Surf Shop and romped in the Atlantic ocean,
- shopped and dined at the mall across from our hotel,
- crossed the Sunshine Skyway bridge,
- saw tarpans and manatees at the Manatee Viewing Center,
- had a blast at Busch Gardens,
- marched in the Reliaquest parade,
- attended the parade awards ceremony at Busch Gardens and took home awards:
Class A Outstanding Music
Class A Outstanding General Effect
Overall 2nd Place Crowd Pleaser Award,
as determined by the Crowd
Reception and Response at the
ReliaQuest Bowl reviewing stand.
- RELIAQUEST BOWL PERFORMANCE! What a huge experience to be on the field with all the other bands and the hundreds of dancers for the halftime show!!
Special thanks to our World Strides liaison, Greg - he not only got us where we needed to be but was so much fun!
Also, thanks to ANDRE, the best bus driver EVER!!

2024-2025 has begun with a huge win over Buffalo!!
A big thanks to all the fans who bought from the Band Booster concession stand - it was a GREAT night!!
Please continue to support the band at the next home game against Crocket on September 20th!!

What a blast the kids had last night at the playoff game in Diboll. Despite the rain, they had a great time! Instruments were put back in the trailer during third quarter, but that didn't stop this band! They still did stands tunes, but sang their parts. It was incredible!

I know it's not even Thanksgiving, but you can always finish your Christmas shopping early!
CHS Band is having their Christmas fundraiser with Scents of Joy candle company. All proceeds go towards necessary band equipment as well as the big trip next year.
Sale ends November 13th.
