AM I MY BROTHER'S KEEPER?
God gave us laws for living, but bc of SIN we don't live according to the law. No generating has and none can, bc apart from God we can do nothing. From the beginning of time there's been conflict amongst brothers & even within marriages SIN makes its presence known, but let's just look at some brothers who struggled to get along bc of SIN.
1. Cain & Abel
2. Jacob & Esau
3. Joseph & His Brothers
4. Moses & Aaron
5. David & His Brothers
6. Prodigal Son & Older Brother
7. Jesus & Us
Even within God's chosen there is strife bc of the sin within us all. God chose Abraham & called him from his own people to make a great nation from him unto Him.
However, even with God's call, direction, provision & protection, man fails consistently at being Holy (set apart unto God). Only God's laws could give us somewhat of a glimpse of decency & order God desires.
Joseph & Job gives us a picture of what
pleases God and both journeys are thru heartache & pain of disappointments suffered thru betrayal, which is the same journey Jesus himself suffered bc of his presence on earth 🌎.
Let's face it, SIN ain't going nowhere bc man is contaminated with the disease, which basically puts BROTHER against BROTHER. Like the pandemic of covid 19 it spreads thru us to others bc it's in the atmosphere. Until we come to recognize SIN as Satan's vice & realize we all are contaminated, we will be fixed in playing the blame game, just as Adam did.
Cain's famous words to God after killing his brother was "am I my brother's keeper?"
Jesus famous words was "when you done it to the least of these my brothers, you've done it to me."
Of course this world isn't all BELIEVERS, so the fights and wars continue amongst man & the killings persist, bc we fail to acknowledge SIN as the problem, to do so would be to acknowledge God as the CREATOR & creation as the origin of all that exist. For this to happen the whole world would be SAVED, which is possible based upon John 3:16-21
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have ETERNAL LIFE. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever BELIEVES in him is not condemned, but whoever does not BELIEVE stands condemned already because they have not BELIEVED in the name of God’s one and only Son.
This is the verdict:
LIGHT has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of LIGHT because their deeds were evil.
Everyone who does evil hates the LIGHT, and will not come into the LIGHT for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the LIGHT, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. John 3:16-21 NIV
