Five games. One VERY long day. A second-place finish earned together! 💪

🔥 47 hits, 37 runs, and a .435 team batting average!

Carson Godlove led the bats at .750 with 9 hits. Henry Quezada hit .636 with 4 doubles, a homer, and 6 RBIs. Nolan Lindsay (.625), Kayson Files (.600, HR, 5 RBIs), and Cooper Jensen (.556, 9 steals) kept the offense rolling.

⚡ SURGE 13U GOLD — WHAT A WEEKEND! ⚡
4–1 | SECOND PLACE | PLAYING UP IN 14U 60/90 🥈

We started the weekend with 10 players. One dealing with a football injury. Another coming off mouth surgery. By Sunday, we had a thumb injury added to the mix.

Because playing up against older kids on the big field wasn’t enough already… these boys decided they wanted to compete. and they came out ON FIRE. 🔥

Saturday started with 17 runs in three innings, followed by a 6–2 win. Across both games, they only had ONE inning where we didn’t score and allowed just TWO runs total. That earned us the No. 1 seed.

Apparently, that got some people talking.

We walked into the ballpark Sunday hearing we’d played “easy teams” and that our team was “dog wash.” Well… the tone was set. Our boys had an opportunity to answer on the field.

First game Sunday: a 7–2 win. Braxton gave us a solid performance on the mound, and Bryer closed it out. No strikeouts recorded, just four hits allowed, and a defense behind them making plays. That’s TEAM baseball. ⚾

Then came the semifinals. A team with size, some freshmen, and their “dude” on the mound. It was a battle, but our boys stayed in it and pulled out a 4–2 win.

Off to the championship.

No excuses here. We got beat. The boys got rattled, and we couldn’t get things going. That’s part of competing, learning how to respond when the game gets tough and carrying those lessons into the next one.

But that last game doesn’t erase what this group accomplished.

A banged-up roster of 10 went 4–1 against older competition and brought home second place. They started earning respect through their play. Everyone had their moments, at the plate, on the mound, in the field, on the bases, and supporting each other in the dugout.

Most importantly, they started playing together as a TEAM.

Proud of these young men. Plenty to build on. Plenty still to learn. And plenty of reasons to be excited about what’s ahead.

DON’T LET THE RECORD FOOL YOU. ⚡️

This Surge 13U Gold team is choosing the hard road, and getting better because of it.

While making the jump to the full 60/90 field, they have competed primarily against 14U teams. Every weekend, they’re facing players who are older, bigger, stronger and faster and they continue to battle in every game.

Nine of our 12 athletes are also playing 7th grade football. With the physical demands of both sports, we decided to take a few weeks away from tournament play to give their bodies time to rest and recover while helping prevent injuries.

They aren’t finished with football, and they aren’t finished with baseball. We’re looking forward to getting everyone healthy, refreshed and back on the diamond soon!

We are incredibly proud of these young men. The record only tells part of the story. The toughness, growth and experience they are gaining will pay off.

Keep pushing. Keep battling. Keep getting better.

⚡️ SURGE 13U GOLD | EMBRACING THE 60/90 GRIND ⚡️

Proud of the way our boys competed this weekend!

Surge 13U Gold finished 2-1, including a 2-0 Saturday while allowing just ONE run. The boys continue to embrace the challenge of playing 60/90 baseball and competing against bigger, stronger, and faster players.

We are one of the few 13U teams in DFW making 60/90 our primary focus, and that’s intentional.

It’s not supposed to be easy.

It’s about challenging our players, learning to compete through adversity, and preparing them for the next level of baseball.

🔥 TOP PERFORMANCES THIS WEEKEND

⚾️ HITTING
• Nicolas Urdaneta — T-14th

⚡️ SURGE 13U GOLD
60/90. KEEP GRINDING.

09/11/2026

Many of us as parents and coaches will look back today and remember exactly where we were on September 11, 2001. Our players weren’t even born yet, which makes it even more important that we continue to tell them what that day meant.

September 11 changed our country forever. We experienced unimaginable loss, but we also witnessed incredible courage, sacrifice, service, and unity.

25 years later, we remember the lives that were taken, the families forever changed, and the first responders and everyday heroes who ran toward danger to help others.

For our young players, 9/11 is history. For many of us, it is a memory we will carry forever. Our responsibility is to make sure the next generation understands the lessons from that day and why we say Never Forget.

Today, be grateful. Hug your family a little tighter. Appreciate the opportunity to play a game we love. Remember those who never got another tomorrow.

From our Surge Baseball & Surge Softball family, we honor and remember all those lost and forever impacted by September 11.

🇺🇸 We remember. We are grateful. We will never forget.

9.11.01 — NEVER FORGET.
