✨My heart behind The GatherWell✨
My job as a Hair Stylist for the last 27 years has allowed me the privilege of making people feel good on the outside and creating lifelong connections and friendships along the way. But little did I know, the Lord was preparing me for something much bigger.
As I quickly approached my 40s, I knew I was lacking something deeper—and that’s when I started to realize I needed more than just the occasional Sunday service. What I needed was a relationship with Jesus, which would eventually lead to community and purpose.
As my faith life grew, so did my heart for leading and my desire to share what these blessings have meant in my life. I soon realized that God had been preparing me all along through the gift of connection in my career—with all the people who have sat in my chair over the years, coming to me in different seasons of life: motherhood, marriage, divorce, loss, addiction, just to name a few. A place where they could be celebrated and listened to without judgment or shame.
After leading groups of women and helping them grow personally and spiritually, I knew what I had to do. I wanted to create a space for women to gather and connect—to be seen and feel heard in a safe place and that’s where The GatherWell was born.
Jen and I decided we wanted the woman at the well to represent what The GatherWell means to us. No one is too far gone, too broken, or too overlooked for God to pursue. Just like the woman at the well, Jesus knew everything about her past, yet still loved her and chose to engage with her.
