Great meeting with the engineer (MBA), architect team from ArchitectureWorks, and Opportunity Alabama (OPAL) team today!

I’ve given them a lot of crazy ideas, but I'm grateful for the experience they bring to historic and mixed-use projects. Restoring old buildings is a specialty all its own. I have no experience in this (obviously) but these folks have done it many times across Alabama and beyond.

Having people who know how to protect the character of these buildings while making them work for today is a big part of getting this right.

Every decision we make is about one thing: bringing these buildings back to life for Demopolis. Local shops, places to eat, and spaces for families to gather, right here downtown.

More updates coming soon! 🍓
