Today, we honor Juneteenth; a day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and the enduring pursuit of equality. On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, enslaved African Americans in Texas finally learned of their freedom.

As we celebrate this important day in our nation’s history, the Frances J. Bright Woman’s Club Charitable Foundation, Inc. reflects on the strength, courage, and contributions of those who came before us. We remain committed to uplifting our communities through education, service, leadership, and opportunities that empower future generations.

Let us use this day not only to celebrate freedom, but also to continue the work of fostering unity, equity, and positive change. Happy Juneteenth!
