Each “Ruby Comfort Bag” includes a special card created to remind Momma that she is not alone. It offers gentle, compassionate information about what may be happening in her mind, heart, and body during this difficult season, helping her understand that the emotions and physical changes she may be experiencing are a natural part of grief.

We also provide information specifically for family members and loved ones, offering guidance on how to listen, what to say, what not to say, and how to walk alongside Momma with compassion and understanding. Our hope is that this information helps families navigate this tender time together, because sometimes, knowing how to support someone we love can make all the difference. 💙🩷

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. 🩷💙

Today, we’re sharing the story behind a very special partnership between PAILS of Love and The Ruby Project.

Erin Baker’s PAILS of Love platform helps families understand how to support a woman experiencing pregnancy or infant loss. But there was one important piece missing: support for the woman herself.

That’s where The Ruby Project comes in. Together, these two platforms can care for both sides of the loss, the family learning how to support her, and the woman walking through it.

Our new Ruby Comfort Bags are designed to help meet a woman’s physical, emotional, and mental needs during those first 48 hours of loss and beyond. Each bag includes feminine hygiene products, wipes, emotional support items, and educational resources to help her understand what may be happening in her body, mind, and emotions.

Because after loss, the whole woman needs care. ❤️

We are honored to partner with Erin and PAILS of Love to make sure no woman has to navigate those first moments feeling forgotten or alone.

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, and this year, we are choosing to do more than remember. We are choosing to listen, educate, comfort, and care.

Throughout October, The Ruby Project will share resources and conversations about grief, pregnancy and infant loss, postpartum recovery, how to comfort someone who is hurting, what to say, what not to say, and how we can better support women and families walking through these experiences.

➡️ Sometimes there is no way to make the pain disappear.

♥️ But we can show up. We can listen. We can care. We can remind someone that they are not alone.

These bags are our way of putting that compassion into action. ❤️

Our Queens never stop advocating!!

Shame.
A loss of dignity.
Embarrassment of having to ask for help.
Alone.

All things women and girls across our state, our nation and our world go through when they don’t have the supplies they need.

This is not 1 in 1,000,000
This is not 1 in 100,000
This is not 1 in 10,000
This is 1 in 7.

1 in 7 girls and women ages 12-44 in Indiana live below the federal poverty line. They’re choosing between keeping the lights on or putting food in the fridge. They’re choosing between putting gas in their car or paying the water bill. They’re choosing between staying home or going to school/work and risking running out of period products if they leave the house.

It’s 1 in 4 across the country. 1 in 4 women are losing income. 1 in 4 young girls are missing out on their education. 1 in 4 moms are choosing to buy the pads or feed their kids another dinner.

This isn’t something just happening in other countries. It’s happening to our girls. Our neighbors. Our mothers, our daughters, our friends. It’s happening in our own towns, schools and workplaces.

This has to stop. We have to change this narrative. We have to be the voices for our girls and the helping hands for these women. And something as simple as one box of pads can help better someone’s life.
