Building Futures Together

Technical education is SO important. Teaching students how to use tools, follow safety procedures, build with their hands, problem-solve, and develop real-world skills can open doors that reach far beyond the classroom. 🔧🛠️
DeLand is taking it one step further.
The Ag Mechanics classroom is a blended learning environment where General Education and ESE students learn, work, create, and succeed TOGETHER. Because inclusion isn’t just about having students in the same room — it’s about making sure every student has a place, a purpose, and an opportunity to contribute.
And these students are already making things happen!
🌱 They’ve built flower boxes
🏠 They’ve built birdhouses
🔧 They’ve learned about tools and equipment
🥽 They’ve learned about proper safety gear and procedures
🔥 And now they’re diving into WELDING!
This is hands-on learning.
This is career and technical education.
This is teamwork.
This is building confidence.
And most importantly… THIS is inclusion. ❤️
So what’s next on their agenda, you ask?

Our Annual Welcome Back BBQ was a huge success!

DeLand FFA members, parents, and DeLand FFA Alumni members came together for an evening of great food, fellowship, and fun! Our members especially had a blast competing in Slip & Slide Kickball!

Even though the weather didn’t completely cooperate, it certainly didn’t stop us from having a great time and kicking off another exciting year with the DeLand FFA family!

💙💛 Thank you to everyone who came out, supported our chapter, and helped make the evening such a success. We are grateful for the continued support of our members, families, and Alumni!

We are proud to recognize Peyton Roddy, District 6 FFA Secretary and a senior at DeLand High School, on being selected to represent the Florida FFA Association as a voting delegate at the 99th National FFA Convention & Expo!
In this prestigious role, Peyton will attend public hearings, serve on delegate committees, and represent the voice of Florida FFA members on issues impacting the National FFA Organization, which has more than 1 million student members nationwide.
Congratulations, Peyton! Thank you for representing Volusia County Schools and the Florida FFA Association with leadership, excellence, and pride!

Exciting News! DeLand SR FFA and DeLand Middle FFA have been announced as National 3 Star Chapters! And even more exciting news DeLand Middle FFA was announced as a National Model of Excellence Chapter! That means they are top 5 in the entire nation!

This state convention has been littered with highs for the DeLand FFA Chapters! Our Conduct of Chapter Meetings Team placed 2nd in the state , our Prepared Speaker Julie Portillo Placed 1st in the middle school contest and Mia Portillo placed 4th in the high school contest, our OCC Team Placed 4th, our Discussion Meet Participant Tim Dobyns made it to Finals and placed in the top 6, our Creed Speaker Kelsey Sabatini placed 3rd, and our Employment Skills Participant Zach Mosley placed 1st. We had three state star candidates, 10 proficiency finalists, 3 proficiency winners, 10 State FFA Degree Recipients, 7 American FFA Degree Candidates. We were recognized for placing first in the High School Livestock Judging, Ag Mechanics, and OH Demos Consumer Use Division competitions. We were also recognizing for placing in the top five of the OH Demo Marketing, Production, Artistic Arrangement, and Landscape Division competitions. The middle school chapter was also recognized for placing in the top 5 of the Livestock Evaluation Competition, and OH Demo Artistic Arrangement and Consumer Use Division! Both Chapters were recognized as 3 star National Chapters and Florida Premier Chapters, and the High School Chapter earned the Chapter SAE Award. We had two members elected as District VI President and Secretary, and member Zach Mosley was elected as your 2026-2027 State FFA President. To say we had an eventfull state ffa convention would be and understatement. The point of this post is not to brag or boast but to congratulate all of our members and the hard work that they put into the DeLand FFA Chapters so that they are successful. We want to thank the parents who trust Mr Brandner, Mrs. Peck, and Mr Peck to teach and advise your students to the best of our abilities. We want to thank our school administration's for without their support none of this is possible!
