Thank you, Sweet Volunteers!!
This morning we harvested tomatoes, green beans, kale, sage & peppers for Elder Care Services Get Me To Monday Food Pantry on East Lincoln Highway in DeKalb, Illinois 🤗

We've also begun some serious w**d suppression around trees & shrubs, edible landscaping and in-ground flower beds using layers of cardboard, straw & wood chips.

Thanks to a kind donation, we now have stepping pavers laid for easier access to the raised beds!

Jr. Master Gardeners from Connect Collaborative spent time with DeKalb County, IL Master Gardeners at Salem Food Pantry Garden today.

Thank you Salem Lutheran Church, Sycamore, IL, ELCA for allowing us use of your classroom space for a Sensory Game!

We checked on the carrot seeds planted last month (they are coming, but slowly)

We filled water jugs from the rain barrels.

We harvested loads of yummy veggies for giving to Salem Food Pantry in the morning 🤗

The stars of the day, though, were the hundreds of roly- polies found under straw and rocks and pavers and sticks!
