Oh, what a beautiful morning for gardening in DeKalb County, Illinois!

Thank you
Pawpaw Foundation 's Austin Cliffe
for kindly donating a very special commemorative Pawpaw tree to our young grove at Elder Care Services Food Garden.

And for helping put our tomato beds to rest, yielding yet another
(and last of the season ) fresh harvest of tomatoes!
These were shared with residents of Housing Authority's Taylor Street Plaza.

Thank you, All!

Thank you Elder Care Services for the opportunity to garden with you!

Our Grow to Give mission is powered by passionate volunteers.
Volunteers who are willing to bundle up for Fall harvesting on a crisp Illinois morning, like this morning.

When we harvest on days local pantries are closed, we deliver directly to our community.

Today, Elder Care Services Food Garden provided market-quality, fresh-picked produce to the residents of Housing Authority's Taylor Street Plaza high rise.

Thank you, Sweet Volunteers!

University of Illinois Extension DeKalb County Master Gardeners have been busy doing what they do best:
"Helping Others Learn to Grow"

In early Spring of this year,
Jr. Master Gardener classes began
at Salem Food Pantry Garden
in Sycamore, Illinois.

Starring young, enthusiastic learners from Connect Collaborative a CommUnity for Independent Education homeschool group, Jr. Master Gardeners grew seeds & tended plants, harvested & shared produce, studied & experienced natural sciences.

Thank you to each and every Master Gardener who so carefully guided these sessions,
and especially to students and parents, who taught us just as much.

See you next season!

The generosity of our friends & neighbors here in DeKalb County, Illinois is both uplifting & humbling.

Recently, we received incredibly generous monetary donations in the form of both individual and group support.
We've had beautiful perennial plants shared with us from private gardens, cardboard for w**d control,
gallon jugs for rain water collection,

food scraps for composting,
and a few hundred pounds of soil amendment for use in our growing rows.

Thank you to each and every one of our Sweet donors. You make a difference in our Grow to Give mission.
You are appreciated.
