The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) will be headed to DeKalb County this year as part of their Annual Roadshow! The DCEO Regional Development Team will be at the historic Egyptian Theatre on Tuesday, August 25th from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. This event is FREE of charge but registration is encouraged.

Following the DCEO Roadshow at 11:30, the DCEDC Rural Vitality Exchange will welcome representatives from the Illinois Extension office to discuss local community development resources.

A light lunch will be provided between events.

We're grateful that our entrepreneurship work was just recognized statewide. Our Breakthrough Community Business Academy is about to begin its fifth cohort supporting local entrepreneurs. Eligibility is straightforward:

- Be at least 18 years old
- Live in DeKalb County (at this time we will consider a limited number of people who live oustide of DeKalb County if space is available)
- Have made at least one sale of a product or service connected with the business the person will focus on in the Academy.
