Five EHCMA member company leaders shared practical lessons on reliability, maintenance and turnaround excellence during a featured panel at the BIC Alliance PRIME Conference on Aug. 18 at the Pasadena Convention Center.

Moderated by ExxonMobil’s Aaron Stryk, the discussion featured EHCMA chair Dirk Perrin (Chevron Phillips Chemical), Greg Marino (PEMEX Deer Park), Alun Phillips (Chevron) and Grant Hopkins (INVISTA).

From team-based maintenance and risk-based inspections to turnaround planning and AI, panelists emphasized one common theme: great reliability starts with great people.

“We have great people. Set clear expectations, lead with trust and get out of the way,” Perin told attendees.

Last Thursday was a great day for the EHCMA: East Harris County Manufacturers Association Board of Directors to hold our board meeting at Port Houston!

We had the opportunity to hear from CEO Charlie Jenkins about the Port’s tremendous impact on our region, the Houston Ship Channel, and the manufacturing and energy industries that depend on it. The scale of what Port Houston does—and its vision for the future—is truly impressive.

And the new Port Houston administration building is extraordinary. A beautiful, modern facility that reflects the importance and character of one of Houston’s greatest economic assets.

Thank you to Charlie and the Port Houston team for hosting us and sharing your time and vision. We’re proud to have such an important partner right here in our community!
