Hello community, we are just a few hours away!!! Yay!!!!!! Reminder, our parade participants will be lining up on 1st Ave from the Farmers Market to Johnston St! All cars will need to be moved off of 1st Ave & Grant by 4:00! THANK YOU 🫶🏽 Only registered parade participants will be allowed to enter 1st Ave lineup!

IT’S PARADE DAY!!!!! 🎄

We can not wait to see the joy on all of your faces, and to see the streets of Downtown Decatur come alive tonight 🤩 Tonight is a GREAT night to grab dinner at one of our local downtown restaurants before/after the parade!

Decatur Downtown Redevelopment Authority has a wonderful Giveaway happening, “Downtown Dash”! Be sure to eat/shop local today, place your name & phone number in the basket where you make your purchase and be entered to win up to $1,000!! The Jingle Boats will also be open!!!

🎄 ROAD CLOSURES & BARRICADES 🎄

You see these beautiful faces?! These are the precious children in our community that we always want to keep safe! TOMORROW is parade day!!! In order to maintain safety, we will utilize barricades to line and block the streets.

3:00 Barricades will be placed along the parade route (2nd Ave, Lee Street & Bank Street). If you are parked on the street, please move your vehicle by 3:00. If your vehicle is not moved, it will be barricaded in until the end of the parade or towed.
5:00 Roads will be barricaded and blocked. Please allow for extra travel time!

We understand barricades and road closures can be frustrating, but we must also remember WHY ❤️ We do this to keep our children and community safe so that we can provide a magical night for our community! Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

From Young Professionals of Decatur & the Decatur Christmas Parade

We’re excited to welcome everyone to the Decatur Christmas Parade on Monday, December 8, as our community comes together to celebrate “Christmas Through Your Eyes, One Season Many Traditions.” More than 70 parade participants are working hard to bring this theme to life and make the night memorable.

Jingle boats are operating 4-9 on parade night!

The parade begins at 6:30 p.m. at 2nd Avenue and Grant Street, continues down 2nd and Lee, and ends at Bank Street and Church Street.

For safety and staging, barricades will be placed at 3 p.m. Vehicles not moved from the route by that time may be blocked in or towed.

We are grateful for the support that makes this parade possible.
• Redstone Realty Solutions is sponsoring our 2nd Avenue stage, bringing back live commentary for that Macy’s-style experience.
• Shottenkirk Honda is this year’s snow sponsor, adding a little extra Christmas charm along the route.

We are honored to announce our 2025 Decatur Christmas Parade Grand Marshal!

Frances D. Tate, artist and founder of CEOTA "Celebrating Early Old Town with Art" , and Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce 2025 Miss Athelyne C. Banks Citizen of the Year award recipient.

Frances D. Tate grew up in Decatur, and has proven her dedication to preserving the history of Decatur’s Old Town and the development of the Decatur Scottsboro Boys Civil Rights Museum. She is a trail blazer for our community, and her passion is contagious! We are incredibly grateful she will be leading the way for the Decatur Christmas Parade!
