Hey all! Want to make a difference for families in need this Thanksgiving? Our 159 V.O.C. (Volunteer Organizing Committee) is kicking off our first ever food drive starting this upcoming Monday night at the October monthly Union meeting, and we will be taking food donations all the way up until November 9 at our November monthly union meeting. Non-perishable food items can be dropped off anytime during regular business hours during that period as well, or if your job site wants to start a collection up, we can make sure that we collect from you. We already have a couple of our signatory contractors willing to make donations to our drive as well. Please consider giving if you can, we want the community to know that Local 159 is here to help! Thanks!

Hey all! We checked in the other day with 159'er/wind farm aficionado, Austin Kramer. He is a 17 year member of LiUNA and second generation Laborer. He's been working on wind farm projects all over the country the last decade, but we're glad to have him back in the local on one.

Just a reminder tonight is Union meeting night! We are heading to Cumberland County for the September Union meeting. Please note that we are changing venues from our usual Cumberland County spot, we will be at the Cumberland County sportsman club in Greenup, Illinois. The address is 1877 CO RD 850 N. The meeting will start at 6:30 PM as usual and we will have food provided by Mac daddy's food truck.

As we have stated before, in an effort to reach and engage more members we are holding a few meetings a year in the eastern part of our local. We hope to see as many of you as possible there.
