According to the CDC, anxiety disorders, behavior disorders, and depression are among the most commonly diagnosed mental health conditions in children.

Among children ages 3–17:

🧒 11% are diagnosed with anxiety
🧒 8% are diagnosed with behavior disorders
🧒 4% are diagnosed with depression

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to prioritize self-care, check in on loved ones, and encourage open conversations about mental well-being. 💚

In late 2019, CAPNA leadership recognized a growing need to break the stigma surrounding mental health within our Children’s Services program. We understood that emotionally resilient staff and supervisors are not just important, they are essential to helping children grow, thrive, and succeed.

This meaningful work would not be possible without our dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Team, who continue to lead this mission with care and commitment:

Rebecca Land, Mental Health Consultant
Leslie Scott, Mental Health Specialist
Tammy Sherrill, Mental Health Coach

We are deeply grateful for their unwavering dedication to making mental health something we openly discuss, actively support, and consistently prioritize, not something hidden or ignored.

Because the truth is, everyone has mental health. Together, we are creating a Partnership where conversations about mental well-being are encouraged, supported, and celebrated.
