A day that changed history!

On September 29, 1784, African Lodge #459, from which Prince Hall Freemasonry traces its roots, received its charter from the Premier Grand Lodge of England. 242 years of spreading brotherly love, relief, and truth, and still going strong!

🤝🏾 Brotherhood in Action! 🎩📐⚒️

DB599 was honored to visit Fort Gillem #601 for an evening filled with brotherhood, fellowship, and Masonic education.

One of the great traditions of our Craft is the opportunity to travel beyond our own lodge doors and strengthen the bonds that unite us. Different lodges, different members, different experiences — yet, one fraternity, one brotherhood, and the same timeless principles of brotherly love, relief, and truth.

Evenings like this remind us that Freemasonry is not simply about where we meet, but about the relationships we build, the knowledge we share, and the bonds we carry with us wherever we travel.

A sincere thank you to Worshipful Master Joseph Wheeler and the brothers of Fort Gillem for the warm welcome and gracious hospitality. It was truly appreciated.

Happy Prince Hall Day!

"As the Christian has a revival, the Moslem has a pilgrimage to Mecca, so do Prince Hall Masons have revivals, and they are called Prince Hall Americanism Day, celebrated on or as close to September 12th each year. It is a time for the Prince Hall Mason to take stock of his life, renew his faith in God, Country and Fraternity, which will include his neighbor. It is a time to renew his faith in God, his patriotism to his country and his duty to mankind. It is in the truest sense a Masonic Revival.”

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer diagnosed in men, and the second leading cause of cancer deaths in men.

It often has no early symptoms. However, because of effective screening options, the disease is often caught before it spreads, with good survival rates overall.

Prostate cancer is more common in men of African-American descent. African American men also continue to have the highest death rate for prostate cancer of any racial or ethnic group in the United States. Scientists believe the disparity stems from both genetic and socioeconomic factors.

The brethren of DB599 support the fight against prostate cancer. Please continue to drink plenty of water, maintain a healthy weight, and exercise. Like many other diseases, prostate cancer hates exercise!

Stay strong! 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾 Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Georgia
