Week of Change - Day 3- Dare to take a stand!
We are in the middle of our Week of Change disability awareness week. We have challenged you to Dare to Start acting differently as well as to Dare to be kind. We want to ask you to continue to start something that isn't quite popular in today's world. It's called standing up for others. You know how easy it is to stand up for yourself. Actually that may be hard for you. But watching someone else get made fun of, picked on, or humiliated has become one of the easiest skills for kids to learn. It's time to stop the charade. We laugh because it's not us. We laugh because we aren’t the target. And we say nothing because we don’t want to be the next victim. So yes, this year it is time for us to stand up for others. As we’ve said so far, we Dare you to do it.

Project Outreach is selling Awareness items during Week Of Change ranging from $.25 to $2.00. We have bracelets, pens, pencils, button pubs, stickers and suckers.

Day 2- Dare to Be Kind!
We mentioned that we want kindness to win, but how many people feel treated poorly when at school or around their so-called friends. Our schools have become a place where even the people we like we treat poorly. Phrases like, I was just playing, it was a joke, and I didn’t mean that they are just excuses we make to treat our friends like less so we can feel like more. It’s a lie. We all know it. So this year we Dare you to be Kind. Like for real Kind. Like not even an ounce of meanness. Think you can do it? We hope you’ll give it a try.

Week of Change Day 1
The Week of Change has a new date and time, but it is our same amazing Disability Awareness week. This year we are seeking to challenge you to think differently than ever before. Actually we are daring you. Bullying is a topic many of us brush over, but did you know students with disabilities are twice as likely to be bullied. But what's even more amazing is that bullying decreases by 50% if one person stands up for the students being bullied and says, “that’s not right.” We are here to dare you to start standing up for others even if you think they can stand up for themselves. It’s time for change and for kindness to win! Will you sit still or will you do something? We Dare you to move!
