Being invited to speak at Our Stories, Our Truth was truly an honor, and I’d be lying if I didn’t say ITU played a real role in how I showed up.

What ITU gives me is a space to continue the leadership, structure, discipline, and brotherhood I experienced in the military. It feels familiar in the best way, grounding me in who I’ve always been while pushing me to grow into who I’m still becoming.

ITU pushes me to show up for my community the way a GENERAL should. To move with purpose. To stand in my truth without hesitation. To be visible, even when it’s uncomfortable.

This weekend, I wasn’t just speaking for myself. I showed up with everything that’s been poured into me over the years, from the military to my brotherhood. The accountability, the structure, the pride, the expectation to lead and not follow.

And that’s what I’m most proud of. That I didn’t shrink. That I showed up fully. That I represented.

Proud to be an ITU General. Proud to keep showing up.

Thankful Thursday

I’ve been a Pledge Master… a Stroll Master… before I even knew what those titles meant.

Back in elementary school, I was already leading, lining people up, and creating step routines from nothing. No handbook. No blueprint. Just vision, rhythm, and a natural sense of leadership. I wasn’t following waves, I was creating them.

As I got older, I realized I didn’t always have a space to land. As a trans man, I didn’t quite fit what traditional D9 organizations looked like or expected. But that never stopped the calling on my life. My passion for Greekdom was real, and it never left me.

So I created space… until I found a space that was created with purpose.

I’m thankful for ITU and how it showed up in my life. A space where I don’t have to shrink or change who I am. I walked in as myself… and was recognized for who I’ve always been.

Now when I step into a room, it’s about presence, precision, and purpose. It’s about knowing I’ve been HIM since a kid… just refining the gift.

Some people learn leadership
Some people grow into it

Me?
I was born a GENERAL

And I’m still leading the lines…
