Today is the last day that ordering a Gyro Pizza at Great River Roadhouse, De Soto, WI will help contribute to the Friends who support the De Soto Public Library and community. The Roadhouse is generously donating a portion of the sale of any Gyro pizza for the month of July to the Friends of De Soto Public Library. The Friends support our library communities by supporting book purchases, library programs, and creating a space welcoming to all.

** Friends of De Soto Public Library Quarterly Meeting Notice **
Friends next Quarterly Meeting will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026. Meeting begins at 5:30 PM. Location is Great River Roadhouse.

The Great River Roadhouse has chosen the Friends to receive a portion of sales from the "July Pizza of the Month". Thank you Josh Petzel, of The Great River Roadhouse, for this generous donation.

The Library's outdoor area and lockers (pictured) were part of the goals of the Friends for 2026. Achieved beautifully.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Ann & Roger Berg have stepped up and taken the reins of the Friends organization. Ann will serve as President and Roger as Treasurer. The Vice President/Secretary position is unfulfilled at this time and duties will be shared until a candidate is found.

Both Roger and Ann bring a skill set that is greatly needed to the community with backgrounds in education and psychology. Please join us in welcoming them and kindly supporting them as you have us.

Thank you all for helping us take this fledging non-profit that was created from a desperate need to help refresh and rebuild a treasured community resource, and turning it into one that is respected across both Vernon and Crawford counties.

Every single one of you that has rallied around the Friends over the past year and a half has helped us lift it up to become a success not only to the larger community, but also to the littlest of our patrons.

It has been our pleasure to serve you.

Our library is introducing a new check-out system and we are in need of volunteers to assist with cataloging our collection.

This task requires easily trained individuals who can aid with data entry in the new system. We are flexible regarding the time commitment, but proficiency in computer skills is essential.

Thank you Viroqua Area Foundation for contributing to our outdoor space again this year! We were able to purchase a commercial grade trash/recycling bin for the area and seal the children’s table in addition to plantings.

Thank you too, to Xander Mckee for your help with the heavy lifting and install. Hope everyone has a successful Rummage this weekend!
