Congrats, B-O-B!
With National Principals Month going on, we decided to use this time to ask a few questions to get to know our 4 Campus Chiefs a little bit better. Each week of October we will feature a different principal.
First up: Mr. Bobby Betts
1. Where were you born?
Mobile, Alabama
2. What is your educational philosophy?
Education should be student-centered and focus on real-world experiences. I strive to help students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills so that they are prepared for life’s challenges during and after high school.
3. Who is someone that has been an inspiration in your life?
I would say my entire family and the community I grew up in. They have shaped the person I am today, and I am very thankful for everyone who’s played a part in my journey. I am truly blessed.
4. Your favorite thing about DLS ISD?
The students are my favorite thing about DLSISD.
5. What is something that you enjoy doing on weekends/time off?
I love being with my kids and my girlfriend and being involved in their activities.
6. How long have you worked in the district?
This will be year number 5 for me in the district, and it’s been an incredible ride.
7. Describe a talent that you have or something interesting about you that people do not know.
I can still do a backflip at age 40.
Editor’s note: We will expect to see this flip right after the Tigers win district.
