Had a short visit to the Paul Laurence Dunbar birthday celebration and 70th anniversary of the Dunbar House and Center. Wish I could have stayed longer. Dayton Poet Laureate Sierra Leone spoke with me about the event and encourages us to “send him a shoutout, post a picture, read a poem, in some way, shape, or form” celebrate the genius, and continuing relevance of this Dayton-raised, internationally appreciated poet.

Today, I’m excited to officially introduce The Black Endowment (The Economic Emancipation Monetary Fund) at Sinclair’s Juneteenth Festival.

Our mission is simple but powerful: to help African American families build generational wealth, preserve family history, and pass down opportunity—not just struggle—to future generations.

We’re inviting community members to become some of the very first Charter Members of this growing movement. Your support helps lay the foundation for a permanent, community-powered endowment designed to strengthen families today and create lasting impact for generations to come.
