G-R-O-W!
Chris has been an honorary member since our very humble beginnings in 2018. When we needed books transported, delivered and picked up, Chris has been instrumental in assisting us. He has even helped us create rubber stamps with our logo and our mascot “Kip”to use on stationary as well.
Chris has lived in Northridge since 2003 and his favorite children’s book is “Harry, the Dirty Dog” by Gene Zion.
When asked about literacy, Chris verbalized that he believes“reading is essential to all aspects of our lives.“
Next up is Renny West! While she did not grow up in Northridge, she has become rather involved in the Northridge community through her church, New City Church -Dayton. She has absolutely fallen in love with the people in Northridge and the community here!
Renny’s favorite childhood book is “The Rainbow Fish”, by Marcus Pfister. 🌈🐟
When asked about literacy, she had this to say: ” I think literacy for children is important, especially in the growing age of technology. I think many children and parents don’t have access to children’s books and don’t necessarily realize the importance of early childhood literacy.”
“With the mission that PBBS believes in and is working towards, there is hope towards increasing wide-spread literacy in children, especially in the Northridge Community. “🐻‍❄️💗

🏀🏈⚾️Gearing up for Drew Ogletree Community Fun Day!
Polar Bear Book Swap has been busy trading in book donations at Dollar Book Swap. There are always lots of books we receive but can’t use for kids in the area.
Stay tuned…. we will have lots of great sports themed titles to choose from on Saturday, June 20th from 10a-2p. 🏀🏈⚾️

The first annual Polar Bear Book Swap summer reading bingo has started!
Students in Northridge Schools should have brought a bingo sheet home. If you don't have one, or have kids that attend other districts, you can find a downloadable bingo card on our website (under the June events).
Summer reading bingo is open to all local school age kids.
Below are just a few of the prizes available.

📚 Two new Little Free Libraries have arrived in Harrison Township!

Thanks to a partnership between Polar Bear Book Swap and our Services Department, residents can now enjoy free community book exchanges at both Sinclair Park and Shiloh Park.

These libraries are a simple way to share the joy of reading. Take a book, leave a book, or discover your next favorite story while visiting the park.

We're especially excited to help expand Polar Bear Book Swap's reach into the Shiloh community and create even more opportunities for neighbors to connect through reading.
