The American Meteorological Society (AMS) was founded in 1919 to allow meteorologists to share knowledge and to advance their profession. The AMS Wright Memorial Chapter was formed in 1960 by US Air Force and National Weather Service meteorologists in the Greater Dayton area. While many of our chapter's members are professional meteorologists, or persons engaged in fields related to meteorology, a

nyone with an interest in the science of weather is welcome to join our chapter and attend our meetings. Membership in the AMS national organization is not a requirement for membership in the Wright Memorial Chapter. Meteorology Educational Sites:
