As I spend my last couple of decades trying to make the next generation of high school and college graduates better prepared for adulthood, I keep being reminded of the uphill battle.

Today I read an elected official calls another elected official, who is limited to a wheelchair, “Governor Hot Wheels”. This adult isn’t helping demonstrate adulthood.

I am concerned. The recent actions of prominent colleges providing milk & cookies and canceling classes to help students come to grips with Presidential election is mind boggling.

These young adults are not being taught how to adjust to not getting their way in a healthy productive manner. They will experience setbacks in their careers. Are these colleges setting up these young adults to fail?

This coddling will not happen in the work place.

Parenting For Adulthood explains to parents the benefit of leanring from failure. Learning from setbacks. How a setback can be a roadmap to learning or a roadblock.

One of the greatest gifts God gave us was choice. When we make a poor choice we learn from it. Don’t let anyone strip your children from a gift God gave them. Allow them to fail. To have setbacks, and learn from them.
