OWNER FOUND HER MISSING DOG! He’s back home.

A neighbor in the 900 block of Greenmount Boulevard is looking for her dog. He is a white poodle with gray spots. His name is Shroder. He is 9 years old. Shroder has been missing for a few hours. Please keep your eyes open for this baby and report any sightings in the comments. Thanks, neighbors!

UPDATE! CATS FOUND! The neighbor who reported these two cats missing said the cats were found with the help of a drone company. (See the comment below.)

LOST CATS! These two black cats escaped from a neighbor’s home on Shroyer Road near Circle K. If you’ve seen them, please post in the comments. The owner’s granddaughter sent us this message:

‘’My grandfather lives on Shroyer near the Circle K.
His two cats escaped from a window.
They are black, short hair, little white spot on the chest. They are very skittish unfortunately.
They are sisters and I’m hoping they stay close to one another while they are out and about.
One has a cauliflower ear.

NEW BIKE/WALKING PATH CONNECTOR COMING TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD. Hey neighbors, if you’ve seen earth-moving equipment and construction near Greenmount Boulevard and the Patterson Park Community Garden, please know it’s not a road! It’s a bike and walking path! The city of Kettering is building a bike path connector at the southeast edge of the neighborhood to give pedestrians and cyclists a short cut between Kettering and Dayton. The connector is designed to save walkers and bikers a mile over the current route, according to an article in the Jan. 30, 2026, Dayton Daily News. The city of Kettering is paying for the work and has been coordinating with the city of Dayton on the project.
The Dayton Daily News article also reported the following:
“ ‘This project is not the most expensive or dramatic project in the world, but it has a chance to be very beneficial to those wishing to bike and walk in Kettering and between Kettering and the city of Dayton,’ said Steve Bergstresser, an assistant city manager at Kettering.’’
“The Kettering Business Park backs up to the Patterson Park neighborhood in Dayton, and the city is planning on connecting the two with a new path from between Greenmount Boulevard in the city of Dayton to the back of the Business Park.
“A new bike and pedestrian pathway would allow residents to bike or walk between the two cities and avoid a nearly one mile alternate route down to the south, Bergstresser said.”

PORCH PIRATES REPORTED IN THE AREA. We received this information from a Kettering neighbor who lives just south of Patterson Park at the corner of Broadmoor and Butternut. Please stay alert, neighbors, and watch out for your own home and your neighbors. ‘’We have had 2 attempted porch pirate incidents during the last week; one during the middle of the day stopped by my neighbor and one in wee hours of the morning stopped by my husband. I just wanted everyone to be aware this is going on. I ordered a sign for our door alerting anyone making deliveries to ring doorbell.’’

IF YOU HAVE STORM DRAIN FLOODING, PLEASE REPORT IT TO THE CITY OF DAYTON! Hey neighbors, this summer’s heavy rains have resulted in serious flooding in some areas of Patterson Park. This picture was taken recently just outside the entrance to Jane Newcom Park, at the intersection of Tudor Road and Greenmount Boulevard. We are encouraging neighbors to report these issues now to the City’s Storm Drainage Call Center at 937-333-4905. A neighbor said he recently called the City about flooding caused by heavy rains and was told the City had not received any other reports about the flooding problem. If you have experienced storm drain flooding this summer that was caused by heavy rainfall, we hope you will call the City and report it now, especially if the flooding resulted in damage to your home and property. Please request that a written report of your phone call be made so city staff can accurately document the severity of this problem. Thanks, neighbors!

‘’Hi, my cat Nunchuck got out (adult orange tabby, unfixed, unchipped, unvaxxed, appointment to get all that done is TOMORROW), he got out on the corner of Shroyer and Lonsdale near Patterson Park. I was wondering if you could make a post telling everyone to keep an eye out and to contact me (Naomi, 937-818-0186) if anyone sees him or captures him?’’
