HEY NEIGHBORS, gulp down your coffee. Put on your walking shoes! The Patterson Park walking group is taking off from Jane Newcom Park at 8 am today. See you at the park shelter in 50 minutes!

WALKING GROUP TIME CHANGE. Hey, neighbors, it’s time to get moving with the Patterson Park Walking Group! The group is now meeting Wednesdays at 7:30 pm and Saturdays at 8 am. Walkers meet at the Jane Newcom Park shelter and walk for about 50 minutes. Don’t walk alone! Come walk with us!

Do you have a young person that has a great idea to help improve the community. Here is a potential grant to help make their idea a reality.

The City of Dayton Sustainability i‑Team, Mayor Shenise Turner-Slosses’ Office, and Learn to Earn Dayton have launched the Youth Climate Innovation Challenge! 🎉

This mini‑grant program supports local youth ages 15–24, who reside or attend school within the City of Dayton with big ideas for improving our community.

Applications close Friday, October 2.

Project support workshops:
• September 1 at City Hall (4:30–6:30 PM)
• September 12 virtually, online (12:30–2:30 PM)

ICARUS, A RED-TAILED HAWK, put on a show today at the Patterson Park neighborhood picnic. Employees of the Glen Helen Raptor Center in Yellow Springs brought Icarus and two other raptors, an American kestrel and a barn owl.

THANK YOU, PATTERSON PARK VOLUNTEERS, FOR ANOTHER GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD PICNIC! Today’s rain didn’t stop us. There was food, fun, kids’ activities, a raffle, and more. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped in any way. Special thanks to Patrick Cauley, vice president of the Patterson Park Civic Association, for organizing the event.
