⭐️’Twas the Night Before a Food Stand ⭐️

’Twas the night before a food stand, when all through the house,
I was glued to the radar, ignoring my spouse.

The truck had been loaded from front to back,
And tomorrow’s food stand was already on track.

The rain started falling, the thunder did too. I started wondering what we’d be driving into.

Would the lot be a swamp? Would the truck make it through?
Would I spend half the night wondering what we should do?

Would we need a new site? Where else could we go?
Who’s got room for a food stand on such short notice, though?

I pictured the puddles, the mud, and the stress.
Our guests trying to navigate all of that mess.

Then I stopped mid-panic and shook my head.
“Wait!! We have gravel!” So I went back to bed.

The rain kept on falling. The lightning put on a show.
Morning still came, and we were ready to go!

The truck rolled right in. The guests did too.
Funny what a few hundred tons of gravel can do.

The storm did its worst. The food stand went on. And for the first time in years… the mud was gone! 🩶

🤎 A muddy memory (Dec 2024):

A guest got their car stuck and used cardboard under their tires to get out! We had to pick it all back out of the puddles.

We also had to move our entire distribution setup to the other side of the lot because under our gazebo was too muddy.

Needless to say, we’re definitely ready for some gravel! Our fundraiser is pinned at the top of our page! 🤎
