Lake Summerset came together today for a moment many of us have been waiting for — the official groundbreaking of our Veterans Memorial at Harting Park Overlook! 🇺🇸

This memorial will feature a 30-foot flagpole, a central engraved monument, and a concrete retaining wall with plaques honoring the names of our local veterans. It’s a lasting tribute to all who have served, right here in our own community.

We’re proud to say the Veterans Club has already raised more than half the funds needed through our monthly dinners, generous donors, and community support. Phase I is now underway, and we’ll continue fundraising to complete Phase II in Spring 2026.

Thank you to everyone who’s donated, volunteered, and helped us reach this milestone. Together, we’re building something that will stand as a symbol of gratitude for generations to come. ❤️🤍💙

What a great day at the lake!

One of our Veterans in hospice care had a wish to go fishing — and thanks to Mundi, the Hospice caregiver, the Fish Club, and our LSA Veterans, that wish came true! Gary reeled in some nice bluegills (catch & release, of course) and was all smiles the whole time.

He’s already talking about wanting a boat ride next… and we say let’s make it happen.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our Pasta Dinner & Silent Auction such a success last night. It truly takes many hands, and we’re grateful for the teamwork and generosity of our neighbors and local businesses.

Our vets put in a lot of work going out to collect donations for this month’s auction and even for next month’s. Tony and Tammy Williamson gathered the majority of the items, and many others pitched in as well—we’re so thankful for all the effort that went into making the auction tables so full.

Special thanks also to Sandy Stamp for taking on the big job of ticket sales and deliveries. It’s a huge responsibility, and she handled it with such dedication.

And thank you to Pat Scharm for setting up the dessert table. Many others cooked and brought delicious desserts to share, and together it was a sight to behold and a treat for everyone.

Thank you as well to Jason and Rachael Kleven from J’s Place on the Lake for catering our pasta dinner.

Thank you to Sherry Sopoci and Patti Dini for setting up and running the silent auction. Tim Sopoci and Dave Dini also did a great job going table to table with the 50/50 raffle.

We’re also so thankful to our community and neighbors for donating such wonderful auction items—the variety and generosity made the evening special. Congratulations to Kathy Wyer on her lucky night of wins, and thank you again to everyone who attended, volunteered, or donated. From the setup to the food and everything in between, this event came together because so many people pitched in.

And a very special thank you to the Beautification Club for donating $1,500 to the Veterans Club. Because of a generous donor who matched their gift, the total came to $3,000!

We couldn’t have done it without you, and we’re already looking forward to next month’s dinner with even more support from our amazing community.

The excitement is building for our Silent Auctions! We’ll be holding them monthly, starting Wednesday, September 17 at 5:30 PM at the Lake Summerset Lodge.

A huge thank you to Sean at The FireBarn for donating a $50 gift card, a FireBarn ball cap, and a Fireball Whisky party bucket with 20 mini bottles.
