What is an E-Bike?
- A bicycle with functional pedals and an electric motor under 750 watts.
- Classes:
- Class 1: Pedal-assist, max speed 20 mph.
- Class 2: Throttle or pedal-assist, max speed 20 mph.
- Class 3: Pedal-assist, max speed 28 mph (must have speedometer).
đźš« What is NOT an E-Bike?
- Motors over 750 watts or lack of functional pedals become motor-driven cycles, needing a driver’s license.
Who Can Ride?
- Anyone can ride Class 1 & 2; Class 3 riders must be 16 or older.
🪖 Helmet Law:
- All riders must wear a helmet, regardless of age and class.
📍 Where Can You Ride?
- Similar to regular bicycles—no sidewalks or limited-access highways.
Safety Gear:
- Front lights, rear reflectors, and side visibility gear are required.
