One of the greatest gifts of this work is the people it brings into your life. We have had the privilege of crossing paths with some of the most inspiring women on the planet, and Katonya Trent is undoubtedly one of them.
Read on to learn more about who she is and the incredible journey that has shaped her:
Katonya Trent - is an author, premature birth advocate, and social impact speaker who is dedicated to supporting families navigating the challenges of premature birth and the NICU journey. She is the founder of Konnected Thru 22, an organization created to provide connection, resources, and encouragement for families with premature babies.
Katonya’s advocacy began after unexpectedly delivering her son at home alone at just 22 weeks pregnant. Her powerful experience transformed her perspective on life and inspired her to use her voice to educate others about the realities and challenges that can arise from preterm birth. Through storytelling and community engagement, she works to bring awareness, hope, and reassurance to families facing some of life’s most difficult moments.
She is the author of 22 and 6 Born on 11/26, a memoir that shares her traumatic birth experience while offering hope and encouragement to women and families facing similar journeys. Through her writing, speaking engagements, and her podcast, Katonya continues to amplify the voices of premature birth families while working to ensure they feel seen, supported, and empowered throughout their NICU journey.
