Happy Thanksgiving! 🦃
There’s a lot of people in western NC that are thankful for YOU this year! We just made another delivery this morning to Asheville. Thank you all for the continued support and donations, the items are getting directly to those in need.

We will be switching gears on household and food item donations and trying to focus on a toy drive for the kids soon. Stay tuned for details on that.

Now we need your help! We are literally overflowing with the many donations you guys have so graciously given to WNC. What we need is good solid contact information for places that truly need supplies. Many places we have delivered to are experiencing the same storage issues we are. We want to get into some cities and towns that aren’t really in the mainstream eye. Together we have successfully delivered FIVE 48 & 53ft trailer loads!

As the need for supplies lessens in the western areas until they are able to get a handle on things we are also open to helping out local agencies like children’s homes, foster care, food pantries etc. So if you know other places in need of excess supplies that may not be needed in WNC right now please let us know!

The North Carolina Christmas Tree Association’s top priority is the well-being of our farmers, their families, their workers (which are like family), industry partners, friends, neighbors, and all those navigating the devastation of Hurricane Helene. North Carolina is the second largest Christmas-tree producing state in the country, with 96% of the Christmas tree production based in the Western North Carolina mountain region. We do not expect the aftermath of Hurricane Helene to have a significant effect on the supply of real North Carolina Fraser fir Christmas trees this holiday season.
Christmas tree farmers are resilient, and they possess the grit and determination to overcome the most challenging circumstances.

While Helene is the most catastrophic storm most have seen in their lifetime of living in the Western North Carolina Mountains, Christmas tree farming is a livelihood and a large economic contributor to the Western North Carolina Mountain Region. It will take some time to fully assess the extent and implications of damage to Christmas tree farms affected by the hurricane, but our farmers have weathered the storm and are ready to persevere. Our Christmas tree farmers are committed to harvesting their trees and delivering North Carolina Fraser fir Christmas trees to retailers across the country.

At this point, we are still gathering information from our farmers regarding the extent that their farms were impacted by the storm. The next step will be working together to create a plan for harvest and shipping as we prioritize the safety and welfare of our farmers, their families, and their workers.

We are grateful for the outpouring of support from neighbors, friends, volunteers from various areas and states, and the tremendous amount of support and guidance from our ag community including the North Carolina Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, local NC State University Cooperative Extension Centers, elected officials, and partner organizations.

We have a long way to go, but we have every confidence that in November, we will welcome our faithful friends to our local choose and cut farms and our wholesale Christmas trees will be on their way down the mountain, ready to help families celebrate the merriest season of all.

Many have asked how they can support Christmas tree farmers in Western North Carolina. Be sure to buy a REAL Christmas tree, preferably a North Carolina Fraser fir, but any real tree helps support what we dedicate our lives to do.

🌬️ **Urgent Update from VNCCC Virginia, North Carolina Compassion Coalition** 🌬️

As the temperatures begin to dip into the 30s and 40s across the beautiful mountain range of Western North Carolina, we are adjusting our donation efforts to focus specifically on the immediate cold weather needs of those affected by the recent hurricane. 🥶

We deeply care about our community and want to ensure that everyone has access to warm clothing and essentials as we brace for the cold. Here’s how you can help:

❄️ **What We Need Immediately:**
- Warm clothing (hats, gloves, socks, jackets)
- Blankets and sleeping bags
- Hand warmers
- Thermal underwear
- Other cold-weather gear
- Instant Coffee

Additionally, we've received requests for **volunteers** to provide **much-needed relief** to the amazing helpers who have been on the ground for the past 10 days, working tirelessly with very little rest. They are in desperate need of some support—both in supplies and manpower.

🙌 **Here’s How Our Community Can Rally Together:**
1. **Gather Supplies**: Collect and drop off any cold-weather gear at our designated location. Every piece counts! Also, Look for our updated Amazon Link on our Page for those cold weather related items
2. **Volunteer Your Time**: We need a team of kind-hearted individuals willing to spend a couple of days assisting to give the on-site dedicated team members a chance to recharge. If you can lend a hand, please reach out!
3. **Spread the Word**: Share this post and tag friends who may be willing to contribute or volunteer.

Let’s come together as a community to support those who have been affected and to lift up the heroes who have been tirelessly working to help others. Together, we can make a difference! ❤️

For questions or to coordinate donations and volunteer efforts, comment below or send us a message!
