Today we celebrate Juneteenth, a powerful reminder of freedom, resilience, and the enduring pursuit of equality. It marks June 19, 1865, the day when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Juneteenth is a time to honor the strength and contributions of Black Americans throughout history, reflect on the progress we’ve made, and recognize the work that still lies ahead. It’s a celebration of culture, community, and hope for a more just and inclusive future.

Go former Miss Danville’s Teen Aleah Stigall!! Making waves more than just in Kentucky!!

Boyle County HOSA wants to wish these two the best of luck this week at HOSA ILC (International Leadership Conference)! Aleah Stigall & Meg Wilson will be presenting “Disconnect to Connect, Let’s Get Real” in the Mental Health Promotion Competitive Event. Their platform is based on improving mental health and relationships, by putting down devices and actually forming connections and meaningful interactions with those you meet and care about.

Their presentation earned them 1st place at Kentucky HOSA State Leadership Conference. They are so excited to compete and show the judges at internationals, just how hard they have worked building a platform and changing lives for the better.

Our HOSA chapter & advisor are so proud of them.

Ladies you have put in the hard work, now go have a blast, network, make new friends, enjoy all that ILC has to offer! We wish you the best TODAY as you do your presentation! No doubt the judges will be wowed! It’s not everyday you have a student who is a published author presenting to you! 🖤💛

Aleah is also competing in Biology, and Meg is competing in BioChemistry! Go get it girls!
