🚨 URGENT-VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 🚨

As happens every few months, we’ve seen our volunteer numbers start to tick down, we’re basically at minimum necessary to successfully run a distribution day 😰

PLEASE consider stopping by this Saturday, if even for an hour or 2, to help. Volunteers welcome starting at 7:30. Our community needs us and we need you 🫶

Still hesitant? I’ll address some common hesitancies below 😊

✔️ Did you come for a while then life got busy? Worried we’ll judge you for not coming the past few months?
🩷 PROMISE the only thing you will see from our wonderful volunteers is joy that you are there! We understand people have lives and things get busy. It happens to every one of us! We’ll just be happy to have you while we do 😊

✔️ Nervous because you won’t know anyone, and your social anxiety is telling you it’s a TERRIBLE idea to just show up?
🩷 First, your social anxiety is rude AND wrong on this one! Our volunteers are some of the friendliest, most kind people you’ll meet. Literally walk up to ANYONE, tell them it’s your first time, and they’ll get you settled in. Plus, you’ll probably leave having made a new friend or 2 (or even better BRING a friend and volunteer together!) 😊

✔️ Anxious because you can’t lift/stand for a long time/have limited dexterity etc?
🩷 We have DOZENS of jobs and will absolutely put the skills you do have to good use! We’ll be thrilled for the extra hands, and appreciate any time or energy you’re willing to share 😊

Please consider coming to see us THIS SATURDAY, at Shiloh United Church of Christ (Shiloh UCC). Volunteers are welcome 7:30-2, with distribution starting at 10. Hope to see you there 🫶

A big thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers who braved the rain today to make our distribution possible! We couldn't do it without you!

Also thank you to the Danville Post Office and carriers for planning and conducting a food drive for us today and to all those who donated! We certainly have fantastic community support from our Danville friends and neighbors!🧡💜🧡💜

PLEASE NOTE: We will not be sorting food on Wednesday as was announced. We will notify our volunteers of the rescheduled date and time. Thank you!

Looks like tomorrow’s distribution day might be a soggy one 😬😬😬 which means we’ll DEFINITELY need some extra hands on deck so folks can have a chance to dry off every now and then. Volunteers are welcome starting at 7:30 and food distribution is 10-1. Hope to see you there ✌️

When grocery prices stay high, our emergency stock tends to get low 🙁 if you’ve been thinking of volunteering or donating but not sure the best way, consider shopping from our Amazon list. Fast, easy, you pick what you buy, and you can do it RIGHT NOW! We all need a little help sometimes, and we’re grateful that we’re able to be here for our community and that they are here for us 🫶
