Year after year, Linde has shown up for Housatonic Habitat for Humanity, rolling up their sleeves and joining us on multiple Team Build Days each year.

These photos are especially meaningful because they were taken at the final home in our New Preston development. From the very first house to this last one, Linde has been there every step of the way, helping make this community possible.

Simply put, we could not have done it without partners like Linde. Their commitment, dedication, and belief in our mission have helped turn blueprints into homes and dreams into reality.

While many know Jill for her leadership and advocacy throughout our community, we've had the privilege of seeing firsthand the impact she makes behind the scenes. As a member of our Board of Directors, co-chair of our Gala Committee, dedicated volunteer, and champion for affordable housing, Jill continually shows up for Housatonic Habitat for Humanity and so many other organizations in our community.

From helping us move important initiatives forward to supporting the final home in our New Preston development, the future ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—›๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ House, Jill's generosity, passion, and commitment to others have helped make a lasting difference.

While we truly wish we could take on projects of this size on a regular basis, itโ€™s simply not something our organization is financially able to do at this time. Thatโ€™s where the magic of neighbors helping neighbors stepped in.

This wasnโ€™t just a donated system. It was businesses, organizations, and community members coming together, using their talents, resources, and generosity to make someoneโ€™s home safer, more comfortable, and more secure.

Projects like this are a beautiful reminder of the power of community collaboration and kindness.

One of the most meaningful parts of our program is โ€œsweat equityโ€, the hours our future homeowners dedicate to helping build not only their own home, but homes for others as well.

Yesterday, Marje and Wendy attended the Danbury Nonprofit Summit at Western Connecticut State University. Community leaders, nonprofits, and local officials came together to discuss how we can better support the organizations working hard every day to strengthen our communities. ๐Ÿ’š

A special thank you to Julie Kushner, Farley Santos, and David Capiello for sharing insight on leveraging funding resources to support nonprofits and the important work being done throughout our region.

Mayor Roberto Alves spoke about this being the first event of its kind and his vision to continue growing it in the future with breakout sessions and more opportunities for nonprofits to collaborate and support one another.
