At the core of the Foundation's mission is a scholarship program that allows young people to experience the benefits of sailing, regardless of financial circumstance. If you are interested in a scholarship to a local youth sailing program, or know someone who may be, please see our Scholarship page for more information. The Dana Point Harbor Youth Foundation is South Orange County's driving force

in youth sailing education. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) with a mission and focus of providing the opportunity for youth to participate in the sport and to glean the benefits and joys of sailing. By participating in sailing activities children and teens are exposed to a unique form of physical fitness. Also, because sailing is a team activity, participants gain important communication, social and leadership skills and increased self-esteem; life skills that they will carry into adulthood. Sailing also teaches young people to be good stewards on the ocean's resources. Dana Point and South Orange County has a variety of exceptional youth sailing programs. By acting as a unifying force for other harbor organizations, DPHYF ensures that the next generation of sailors has the resources and equipment they need. Dana Point Yacht Club Youth Sailing

DPHYF is proud to enrich our local community by providing scholarships, sailing equipment and hosting certification courses at all levels. However, we cannot do it alone. All donations make to the Foundation are tax deductible. For more information on how to give, please see our Donations page. Since DPHYF is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt entity all donations made to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the donor. Maybe you have a personal legacy goal that we can help you fulfill or tax planning needs. Next weekend is the 10th annual Jeffrey Adam Memorial Regatta. Saturday April 30th will see sailors of all ages battle it out in the Tera, CFJ, 420, Laser 4.7, Laser Radial, and Capri 14 classes. Register now to get in on the action.

After the action there will be a racers dinner and benefactors dinner that you will not want to miss out on including salmon, specialty pizza, and Handel’s ice cream!
