Yesterday, we restocked the Pennsylvania State Booth at the Great American State Fair with Pennsylvania-grown and processed potato chips! 🥔🎡

While we were there, we had the pleasure of meeting and receiving help with unloading chips from these four outstanding 4-H members of the Damascus Livestock Club from Damascus, Maryland, who were attending the fair to exhibit livestock.

Thank you to these young exhibitors for taking the time to help us out! We appreciate it!

Happy to help our friends north of the Mason Dixon Line unload a huge shipment of potato chips for the Pennsylvania booth at the Great American State Fair! We did have to point out though that we are proudly from Damascus, MD!

Thanks to the incredible group of 4-H students and PennAg Industries Association for bringing one of our final shipments of Dieffenbach’s chips to the booth.

Yesterday our club was fortunate to be selected to participate in the Great American State Fair in Washington, DC on the National Mall as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebrations. What a unique and rewarding experience it was. We were able to tell the public about our club, our animals and ourselves. We made new friends from across the country and even met and chatted with the Deputy Secretary of Energy.

We also negotiated a huge potato chip deal with the state of Pennsylvania in exchange for unloading an entire truckload of potato chips!

A big thank you to the U.S. Department of Agriculture for putting on this event and selecting our club to participate. It was great to be able to represent agricultural youth on the national stage!

We would also like to thank:

Mrs. Riggs for keeping us on schedule and well hydrated.

Mr. and Mrs. Lechlider for designing our 250th commemorative logo and shirts.

Mr. Morris for hauling all the animals and meeting with the USDA veterinarian and the DC Health Inspector.
