We wrapped up Black Voter Registration Day and our weekend civic engagement work by registering 23 new voters! We’re especially proud of one new voter who had just turned 18 just 5 days beforehand.

We also helped more than 175 people check their voter registration status. Please, please, please check yours—and if you’re eligible but haven’t registered, do it now. Go to Check Voter Registration | VOTE411 to check your voter registration status.

The Texas voter registration deadline is Monday, October 5.

VOTER REGISTRATION WEEK - PART 1 ...

An exciting day at the North Texas Job Corp!!!

In recognition of National Voter Registration Day on September 15, we invited our community partners to join us for voter registration at North Texas Job Corps. Thank you to the Collin County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, for volunteering and helping us to register 34 students ages 18–24—and for many of them, this will be their very first election!

As part of our five-year relationship with North Texas Job Corps, we had the opportunity to talk with these young adults about the importance of voting, what to expect at the polls, and the issues that matter most to them. Their questions, ideas, and enthusiasm were energizing and a powerful reminder that young people are ready to make their voices heard.

North Texas Job Corps provides young people with academic support, career training, and hands-on skills to help them build successful futures.

We are grateful to the directors and staff for their continued encouragement and support, and to our Delta partners for helping make this voter registration drive a success. We look forward to seeing these new voters at the polls!
