Bold Idea is a Dallas-based education non-profit organization that helps students discover computer Young minds are capable of bold thinking in their youth.

Bold Idea supports the development of students as critical thinkers, problem solvers and effective communicators who are proficient in core technology skills – from coding to computational thinking. Bold Idea is an education non-profit organization based in Dallas. Our mentor-based programs ensure students thrive in an increasingly technological world, where critical thinking, problem solving and

collaboration are necessary for success. Students learn computer science and 21st century skills through hands-on computing projects. As a team and guided by volunteer mentors, students learn to develop an idea through multiple iterations of ideation, prototyping and testing. Finally, they present their projects to an outside panel of experts drawn from parents, team sponsors and the community. Bold Idea empowers students to create technologies that solve real-world problems, while giving them confidence as young coders.

🌟 Big ideas start with bold students.

This summer, Bold Idea is bringing together students 3rd-12th grade for our inaugural Hackathon—an exciting, team-based experience where students will design and build technology solutions to real-world sustainability challenges. Along the way, participants will collaborate with peers, learn from industry mentors, and pitch their ideas to corporate judges.

Whether your student is new to coding or already building projects, this is an opportunity to strengthen problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, and confidence while exploring future pathways in technology.

We had an incredible time at Lincoln for our Pathway Finder visit in partnership with Credera !

Students had the opportunity to connect with professionals, explore career pathways, and gain real-world insight into the tech industry. Experiences like these help bridge the gap between the classroom and future careers—opening doors and expanding what’s possible.
