Meet Cassidy, a wonderful advocate and longtime Team Captain of “Runnin’4Rosey” participating in Get Your Rear in Gear - Fort Worth since 2018!
“Eight years ago,” shares Cassidy, “my uncle was diagnosed with colorectal cancer at age 44. Without proper screening/treatment, we could have lost my uncle to a 90% preventable disease. Fortunately, he completed chemotherapy, and we are so thankful that he has been cancer-free for the last 7 years!!!”
“The reason why 2026 is different than any other year in the past is that [in January], we lost our close family friend, Rosey, who also suffered from colon cancer. She was first diagnosed at age 49 in 2023. Seeing both family and close friends receive these diagnoses at such young ages, it is pushing me to do more.”
“I am asking my hospital, Texas Health Southwest, what more we can do to spread awareness. I am currently working with the manager of my unit so that we can go !”
