It was a spectacular evening on Saturday, May 2nd when over 375 guests gathered at the YMCA in Burnet for the Highland Lakes Service League annual Chuck Wagon Chow Down Fundraiser. Participants enjoyed many activities, raffles, and live and silent auctions to support our mission. The night also included a delicious BBQ dinner catered by Pok-e-Jo’s with musical entertainment presented by Billy Scott.
Proceeds will be used in 2026 to provide grants to local non-profit organizations, award scholarships to adult women wishing to continue their education, host the annual Special Needs Christmas Party, and provide monetary assistance to individuals and families in need in Burnet and Llano Counties. Scholarships will be awarded in June, and grants in November. Throughout the year as needs arise, the Highland Lakes Service League will support various needs in the community. Anyone wishing to apply for a scholarship or a grant should visit the website at www.hlsl.org.
The Highland Lakes Service League would like to thank everyone who attended, contributed funds, provided items for the activities and auctions, and sponsored or underwrote the events. Additionally, we would like to thank our fabulous HLSL volunteers who worked tirelessly before and during the event. We could not accomplish our mission without the support and generosity of the community. “Together, We Can Do More!”
