When Randy and I decied to retire in the Philippines, we had three cities to choose from - Cebu City, Mabalacat Pampanga, and Tarlac City. We chose the city where I was born and raised, simply because I want to be near my two siblings in the City. But over the eyars we lived here, the Pros won over the Cons and we found out how good it is to retire in a place where the cost of living is lower, your relatives are closer to you, and you gain a lot of respectable, honest to goodness friends!!! Here is our present home, and when you visit the Philippienes - come by and see Tarlac City, and be friends with the growing Expats Group who loved staying here for good.

I was surprised to see Otto Tabamo at Donang's party. I forgot that they could be friends. I walked over to introduce myself, telling him that his Mom, Dr. Cristeta Tabamo, was ny grandmother's first cousin. That makes him my uncle! He seemed baffled. When Nanay got sick when we were in high school, I would sit by the hallway and watch him walking around. I had a crush on him then. My mother told me that's stupid because we are close relatives. But the real block was that they were up there and we were beneath them. Money always counts in relationships. But I was pleased with his wife. She's so friendly and nice. I could not help liking her to be a friend!

Introducing the Intern of Roscon Organozation Pilipinas, Inc. (ROPI), a subsidiary of ROSCON FOUNDATION, INC., in Tarlac City, Region III, for 2025-+2026. If her internship becomes successful, she will be the first scholar of ROPI qualified to enroll at the Tarlac State University as a Scholar commencing 2026 schoolyear. She was highly recommended by one of the teaching faculty of Balibago Primero Integrated School, who knows her personally and conveyed Arnie's intent to learn financial administration and domestic management for future academics. She will be trained under the supervision of President Edison Cutero and Chairman Carolina C. Smith, to be supported by Corporate Secretary Gerladine Tamayo of Victoria, Tarlac.

I started the drive to build the renovation of the canteen and library at the Balibago Primero Integrated School in our Barangay. I have contacted my close friends in Texas and so far, two have responded favorably, with one sending her help through Gcash. I am so tense because I can see the hardship of the school an its studentry. I wish some of those who borrowed funds from me to help them will now listen to my plea and return some of the funds so I can pursue this project. For those sincere friends of mine who wish to get more details, you can email me at [email protected]. May God bless you all for hearing this request for support.

So happy that the members and officers of ROPI is getting more involved in our community activities. I admire their sincere desire to be of help to people. I was so delighted hearing Silverio say that she likes giving money to tricycle drivers in her area and she's happy seeing them happy, too. I like her. I got a text from my Texas friend and supporter, McCary that she will send some donations, too, to help us with our missions. God gave me so many good friends I can't believe they provide full support on our activities that really contribute towards the betterment of our community. May God bless you all a thousandfold!!!

ROPI does not ask any contributions from its members and officers. We rely on donations because we are a public charity organization. Over the past 25 years, Roscon Foundatioin has proven its contributions to charity, especially the province of TRarlac, where the founders were born and raised. Moing to Texas, the founders established the Foundation and in over 25 years have accomplished the following missions in Texas: conducted scholarships and grants that allowed 11 bachelor degrees, 3 masters and a doctorate degree scholars, two of whom are still actively involved with the Foundation, two in well-established businesses and two employed at top local government agencies. When the Chairman and the Executive Director retired in Tarlac City, they registered a local branch and it continued with feeding programs, essay contests, festival contests and supporting its major beneficiary, Balibago Primero Integrated School, with their plans and programs for the benefit of its pupils and students. The photo shows the President of RPPI and the Assistant Treasurer by the banners that showed the joint textbook donation to BPIS in coordination with the Tarlac United Lions Club. Thank you, Edison, Iris, for being active officers of this NGO, and thanks, Jennifer Viduya, for donating these textbooks to our public school here in Balibago.
